Damn could have just afk'd after 50mins and made top 3 rangers

Yeah the ladder definitely looks like a bloodbath.

I should have checked the ladder earlier to try and go out in a blaze of glory hunting IMD :p With 10 min to go though I had no hope of finding him in time :(

Reached lvl 9 with 5 or so kills before having to face a lvl 12 just after having been lowered to 1/2 or so life by a previous duel.

The duels themselves were unimpressive, all ranger vs ranger until the final duel (though he was also using a bow (+aura)) which is currently just a build/gear test, further which at those low levels is almost completely based on lucky drops/shops. Arrows need to be actual projectiles (ie, be dodgeable) for this to change.

I considered restarting but realized getting past the early area at lvl 1-2 would be impossible due to camping gankers or simply meeting anyone 4-5 levels higher. Hard to see how this is fixable without compromising the league integrity, and tbh it probably isnt a problem considering the leagues short timeframe.

The main thing id like to see changed is the removal of the party function in all cutthroat leagues. Let players party up based on trust, diablo 1 / darkfall style, and let skilled soloers and/or smaller parties force sloppy and/or larger parties to damage or kill their teammates in the heat of battle. Itd be more intense, more skill intensive and more "cutthroat", especially when epic betrayals or friendly fire kills occured.

Anyway, was fun, would play again.

i fully support the idea of friendly fire being on in cut throat. There is far too much incentive to party up and gank.
Anyone want my gemcutters prism, Its not something useful to me during closed beta lol (i.e. I dont play enough)
Well, that was interesting :)

Prizes have been awarded (they're on new hardcore characters on your accounts). Congrats to the winners!

I need feedback on this hardcore cut-throat format. How does it compare to non-hardcore for these short durations?

I'd like to have a way to know the people who tried to gank me. I don't even now if they were the same every time.
Somehow, I managed top 3 marauder without using my keyboard and without partying.
All my loot was shit but portal gem was godly :D

Was fun, despite failing as usual - races aren't my thing. Got to 6 before first death.

Who got Chris/what was his highest level?

I could swear sometimes the "Someone has joined" doesn't show up. I have global off so 0 messages besides when i join and leave instances and when i or gems level up. Yet i somehow still get surprised by a red x on a minimap and no join message. Anyone else notice this, or i'm just blind? I can't confirm since every time that happens i die.

I definitely preferred it, but only because i don't play SC. So not sure my opinion helps. Not to mention i won't be doing ladder races once the game releases, only permanent leagues, so yeah. :P

For the purpose of pure XP racers, I don't think it matters too much. The only difference in my play was that I was way more paranoid about accepting fights, so I actually ended up not getting any that I felt confident enough to let play out (though there was one where I really should have I think).

Oh, and I guess it saves you the hassle of storing extra gear in your stash! :p

I think HC CT really highlights just how much instant difference level caps are needed, a death after 30mins was practically impossible to come back from.
Winner of the First Ever Cut-Throat Server Test, and Winner of the First Ever Cut-Throat League Event!
I really liked it, but then again I didnt die =P.

But I like the fact that if I die early I can go do something else instead of always being in the race.
I'm pretty sure the difference that made Bullycide first place in kills was 1-shot ganking lowbies in Terraces.
