Unofficial Path of Exile Mac Client - Download - v.2 Released
Been playing for a few days and glad it runs decent for me enough to enjoy :)
I have a early 2009 iMac 20" with the NVIDIA GeForce 9400. It is playable in fullscreen with everything low on 1024X768. Fps is real bad in towns and starts skipping a beat every so often just adventuring around. Cant expect much from this card but im not buying a new computer anytime soon. |

I've been playing PoE a lot and rarely get any crashes, one in the last oh 15 sessions. One other time I got some really wierd graphic glitches and flashes, all I can say is the rebooting my MBP resolved the issue.
I've been playing mostly in OS10.8 preview. My MBP is a 2010(?) 17" Core2Duo, 2.8Ghz w/8gb ram (GeForce 9600M 512MB). I play the game full screen at 1024x640 at the lowest settings. I list all this because when my wife plays (we play together in 2 player party) she gets frequent disconnects (I'm guessing) because her game will freeze and then a few seconds later I get the notification that her player left the party. Her MBP is a 2008 15" Core2Duo, 2.4Ghz w/4mb ram. I'm pretty sure we both have the GeForce 9600M (256MB) so maybe 4gb's isn't enough? I see in the chat and forum other users complain about disconnects too. Edited: Ordered 8GB for the 15" (wow RAM prices continue to drop) Signed: Geldric, scribe of Oriath Last edited by Geldric#2933 on Jun 3, 2012, 9:43:28 AM

9.10c (or was it 9.11c?) has wrought havoc upon your fine and now apparently illustrious standalone mac port. I am experiencing random disconnects in all acts, all areas when I try and zone in and out of instances. sometimes I can zone in and out sometimes not... some monsters such as the water elementals (brine something) in act 1 ship graveyard - merveil are just homogenous blobs of greys, blues and polygons. The mini-map in all its forms (tab overlay and the top right mini map) fail often when zoning in and out of instances and will show sometimes a black box sometime just random grey or brown squares. Also all item tooltips seem to be jiggling back and forth a couple of pixels for some reason.
I love your product thank you for all your hard work I hope GGG sees the error of their ways and produces a legit mac version with your name in the "inspired by" (lol) credits. EDIT: I installed all the new winetricks as you prescribed still having problems. Father...Father, The Sleeper Has Awakened! Last edited by SansCullote#2162 on Jun 5, 2012, 11:13:59 PM

on June 5, 2012 8:10 PM I was having those weird graphic problems before the 0.9.10 patch. It's as if OpenGL can't run the shaders so textures appear as cubes and angled planes. Really screws it up :-/ I would usually reboot my Mac and the problem would go away. I had it twice today, both times in the dark forest (act 2). I've tried the vsync setting but nothing but a reboot will fix it for me. When I play tomorrow I'll see if I get the problem on just one or both engines (1.4 & 1.5.5). I had to stop playing my shadow because i couldnt zone into any of the available act 2 waypoints or doors connected to the camp even after trying several times crashing everytime...

Just checked and my new ranger (4) worked but when I tried to load my ranger I played yesterday (20) it crashed before the loading screen. I then tried another act 2 char and it worked, so I tried the level 20 ranger and it worked too.
If you can perhaps test another char and as a last resort (if you can), remove the folder and replace it with a clean one (so it downloads the full game again). There something in the feedback forum about running packcheck (?) will tell you if the Content.ggpk file is ok Good luck UPDATE: I am also getting "door" crashes, as in, I go to a waypoint but then go to the connected level and the client crashes... :-(. I've been trying to play in act 2, I'm going to see if a new char has the same problems. UPDATE 2: and 20 minutes later after playing my level 5 ranger I went back and loaded up my level 20 ranger and went to about 6 different areas then portaled back to FE without any crashes.... I'd say give it another try... Signed: Geldric, scribe of Oriath Last edited by Geldric#2933 on Jun 6, 2012, 11:51:55 AM

" Sorry, what I meant was to download the zip for the Mac v2 (link on the first page of the thread). The client is already installed, you'll just have to re-download the (huge) file(s) again. V2 link is here: http://uploading.com/files/9fff945m/Path%2Bof%2BExile%2Bfor%2BMac%2Bv2.zip/ Signed: Geldric, scribe of Oriath Last edited by Geldric#2933 on Jun 6, 2012, 1:55:15 PM

" I tried this, still having trouble in Act 2 with graphic glitches (stretched artifacts etc.) and crashes, both upon entering new areas and randomly. Must have been the patch because it was fine two days ago. I hope you can get this worked out, I love your version! :) | |
" There are new animations so now we may be pushing things a bit more. I also had the graphic glitches yesterday afternoon and searching through the forums, it looks like VSync should be ON. I had everything disabled including VSync. I turned VSync ON this morning and played my Act 2 ranger through killing Oak and then the waterfall caves through the pyramid and had no problems. My laptop doesn't seem as warm either. It can't hurt to try, unless you already had VSync on. Signed: Geldric, scribe of Oriath Last edited by Geldric#2933 on Jun 7, 2012, 1:40:15 PM
