Feels fishy.
When a banker jumps out of a window, jump after him, that's where the money is.

Swap Added Lightning with Life Leech for Frenzy
Use LA + LMP + Pierce + WED for AoE ( alot more dps because no chain and less mana cost )
I really needed to step in here to correct your statement. Your a classic case of people who think sheet DPS is the same as actual DPS.
I'm going to make it very simple here. Lets say you do 1k LA + LMP + Chain DPS. Your firing 3 projectiles at 1k DPS each, and each one chains 2 times in a pack?? I think you can do the math. That's closer to 10k actual DPS.
Sorry bud but there is absolutely no substitute or comparison to chain and its actual DPS potential. You are severely gimping ur spec without it.
And chain does -50% damage, gives 200% mana cost and doesnt always chain.
chain = -50%
lmp = -30%
= 20% damage remaining.
My build:
only lmp that reduces damage = -30%
= 70% damage remaining = 3.5* more damage than with chain.
Pierce can hit more targets than chain does as well ( if it pierces two targets, huge % chance with projectile weakness curse ) Also probably 1/3 or 1/2 the mana cost compared to when you use chain.
I'm well into 1000+ hours played and tried pretty much every build out there so dont tell me im wrong.
Lol ok it's your character, play it how you want it :p

LA with out chain is not a true LA build.

I just explain why people shouldnt use chain togather with LMP and still you flame me LOL to many guys with iq of a fish here.
AGAIN:
Lets say you do 1k dps WITHOUT support gems:
LMP = -30%
Chain = -50%
Total = -80%
= 200 dps
LMP = -30%
Pierce = -0%
Total = -30%
= 700 dps
= 3.5x more dps.
I even prefer piercing targets over chaining because you can hit alot more than 2 extra and saves double the mana cost.

It's more like:
LMP = -30%
Chain = -50%
Total = -80%
= 200 dps x 6 = 1200dps
Vs
LMP = -30%
Pierce = -0%
Total = -30%
= 700 dps
Each projectile(of the three) chain twice.
Derp.
Not to mention, more shots = more chance to shock + longer duration (since there is lower wait time between bolts hitting targets, due to the projectiles distance traveling from chain is much shorter then normal) which = a lot more dps.

1. You forgot the 700 x 3 ( LMP ) = 2100
2. You get longer duration shocks with more damage not hitting more often.
3. You forgot about pierce, which makes the 2100 * 1 to X
4. You forgot about the fact that the chaining doesnt ALWAYS chain twice.
BIG DERP

Hey, it's your math, not mine. I'm just saying that chain lowers over all dps by 50%(which you calculated), but multiplies it by 6 since it adds 6 more projectiles(which you did not calculate). And, nothing in the wiki says that chain has a % to work. I believe it only does not chain if it get into a situation where it cannot - such as Forking. I could be wrong, but the wiki and gem states nothing of 'having a chance' to chain.
Mess with the best, die like the rest.

Well I can tell you that chain doesnt chain 100%. I think it works just like Arc which also doesnt chain 100%
