BUILD OUT OF COMMISSION....NO LONGER VIABLE DUE TO IDIOTIC CHANGE TO IRON REFLEXES

Hey Athena,

Quick question: you mentioned you get about 1100 chain LA dps and about 6k frenzy.

Well, currently with wrath/anger up I do get ~950 LA dps (LA-Chain-LMP-weapon elemental dmg) but only about 2.8k frenzy (frenzy-life leech-faster attacks-added cold dmg). I know that I can't do wonders with 4L for LA/frenzy but while I'me very satisfied with my LA dmg I feel that frenzy is lacking. What could I do/change to improve it? (within 4L).

Also, did you or anyone else tryout GMP instead of LMP on LA?

Edit: what curse do you guys use? conductivity? elemental weakness?

Sorry I should have specified my frenzy is buffed damage, without any buffs I sit at 3.2k. High physical damage bow with iron grip will help as frenzy works best with it. But you shouldn't be over all to worried about it. That's one of the downsides to an LA build is single target can be lackluster until your gear is stellar. If your using a tri-ele bow you can try switching to elemental hit instead. You will lose out on the attack speed bonus charged but your hits will pack a slightly harder punch.

I personally prefer the speed so I like frenzy. Once you obtain a lions eye you will melt anything anyways. So jus be patient :)


As far as curses conductivity is the best choice until you get static blows. Once you reach static blows later on I use a combination of elemental weakness or projectile weakness. I use ele weakness the most especially against any mob that has some form of elemental resist. You can also try protective weakness as your curse when you single target with frenzy.

I played a 2H marauder before and had a tough time soloing maps. Also had a DW duelist and a LS mace/board Templar before that...
This is my first ranged character and this one just plowed through all the difficulties.
I'm level 68 now and working my way towards Inner Force. I had to take Leather and Steel as my evasion is really lacking at the moment. No 5L and chain yet though.
I see you updated the build and added the two 12% life nodes, I was wondering why you didn't take it.

Giving charges on kill + you can obtain up to 8% LL with L20 Q20 or 6% without it. Besides, with you bild there is no Chaos dmg per second =)

Your very welcome and I'm glad you like it. I also used leather and steel at the start until my gear got better. :) if I ever reach in the 90s I will go back and take it. But with the current map system and how terrible it is I don't play all that much anymore.

- Lightning Arrow, Weapon Elemental Damage, Chain, Life Gain on Hit, LMP and faster attack or maybe something else ?

Frenzy, Added Lightning (or any of the other elements) Faster Attacks, Weapon Elemental damage and culling strike or maybe something else ?

This build was designed for hardcore and was used originally as hardcore. I've never had a problem :) make sure you itemize yourself properly :)


You should put a big note right up front then that the build is item heavy early on. Us newer folks don't always have a huge selection of really good gear. At level 17 on the new char and have come close a few times to biting the dust now. Mobs that zerg are the biggest danger especially if they are beefed up. Taking the extra health early on I still believe is the way to go...

The build is not heavy on gear requirements which is what makes it attractive to the masses. I think you are experiencing issues that are a result of player error in play style and itemization. I play self found on all characters.

There has been no complaint by anyone yet other then you about the build. If you would like to try another build feel free :)
Think it was already mentioned before, the quality of reduced mana doesn't reduce the amount of reserved mana from auras. This has been stated on wiki and confirmed by Mark in July.

However this could be outdated. So if anyone could check if this still implies, by changing a quality by a non-quality.
