Related: Tropical Island has Blood Progenitors. They also have mass frenzy, and poedb.tw.xyz says they have over twice the health and much better cold/lightning resist. Assuming google translate got it right. But you can't get them anytime for free in act 7. I'll test them out sometime tonight. I can't find mana totals for any of these.

Holy cow, if this works, it will be a massive improvement for the build outside of maybe a tiny percentage of contents!
So incidentally, I'm an idiot.

Blood Progenitor is the boss for tropical island. MassFrenzy for spectres will be Carnage Chieftains or not at all. (Well, poacher's mark, but single target boss fight that doesn't help.)

you are doing the exact same thing... i never said that you claimed the whole build was abysmal. my comments were soley in relation to juiced t16 lvl 8 awakener mapping, i thought it was pretty obvious in the context of what i wrote. and it is not as terrible at that as you claim. maybe for people sinking 100s of exalts into a second character just to clear maps, sure, but for the average player then the clear speed is completely acceptable as an all round build

Of course I also talk about juiced T16 AL8 clear speed. Nothing else matters. And there it is simply insanely slow compared to other, cheap, alternatives.

But lets lay this discussion down... As I said, I already assumed it was only me not caring about clear speed improvements to the build. I mean, it takes like 5 hours and 10ex to have a character that can farm juiced T16s in 30 seconds.

But I know some people, not most as some imply, only play one build. So the clear speed improvements clearly have a place here and are fine.

the benefit of either 4g2r or 4g1r1b over the standard colours of 3g2r1b is that you need less mana reservation. it's 2% less reduction meaning you can optimize auras better, you don't need an enlighten 4 or expensive reduction jewels. but the end result is identical dps on bosses which is all that really matters. the crawler is one shotting the screen on juiced up t16s anyway when it comes to trash

This is actually a really important point that I think may get missed. Although the guide indicates a 2g2r2b as the optimal socket colors, the dps differential between that and a 4g2r or 4g1r1b is small while the price differential is enormous. Barring big spenders, there will likely always be better uses for your exalts than buying "optimal" colors.

On top of that, it is *much* easier to work skitterbots into your mana pool with more greens which tend to be less mana expensive. Personally, I think the worst of all worlds is a 2g/2r/2b as you end up with stuff like minion speed (130), minion damage (130), and damage on full life (130).

Compare this with a 4g2r or 4g1r1b where you substitute things like vile toxins (120), or vicious projectiles (120). For budget players a 4g2r or a 4g1r1b is probably the best choice.

tldr: buy a 2+ skills chest with four green sockets, one red and final socket either red or blue if possible.

Might actually be worth discussing this in the OP.

Sorry if this was answered already, since I'm playing catch-up on this thread cuz I just got home, I'm using a corrupted 2b/2g/2r and I'd never use minion speed, deathmark is a much better option in that case. It's very solid against bosses too. I'm not using my awakened viscious projectiles anymore so that kind of sucks, but I zip through t16 maps and I killed everything but Sirus without any problems with this setup.

I paid around 13 ex for mine and I'm happy with it for now. I tried a few other variations at first but other than the most optimal one which costs over 40 ex, I think 2/2/2 is a solid enough option.

I'll agree Mana reservation can be an issue however. Atm i got it covered with charisma but I'm gonna switch that around very soon.

No, you only get it once. You don't roll for the keystones. Every Kiloava Lethal pride will give the double block. You roll for the stuff it gives you on the notable nodes.
First, overall this guide is very easy to follow and makes 100% sense even for someone that doesn't understand much about PoE/play it much before this league.
Thank you for writing it.

With being a newbie I have a couple questions.

1. For leveling all the way to 68 does HoA+Quill+Rain of Arrows actually carry the entire way or do I need to grab another bow at some point?

2. Any suggestions for quivers through this leveling process?

3. Any chance of 1 or 2 pastebin's for the journey up to level 68? Not sure which nodes to prioritize. This is the main reason for hesitation to start the build as of right now. But endgame looks amazing!!!

But again, thank you so much for the build/guide, it looks great.

I don't mean to imply that a 2g2b2r isn't usable. It clearly is, and I ran one myself for a while. But the blue gems tend to have all have the high mana costs (130).

The market is moving quickly and it may have already corrected, but part of what stimulated my post was that when I bought my chest (a week or so ago), 2g2b2r was valued more highly than something like a 4g1r1b which is what I'm running currently. I think this is incorrect, for the reasons I gave previously; all other things being equal the dps difference between gem choices is small, but the mana reservation issue is significant. I sold my 2g2b2r and bought the cheaper 4g1b1r and haven't looked back

1. You don't deal damage with the bow. So the fastest bow will always be the best at applying the most poisons. Which is Quill Rain.

2. Whatever you want. Attack speed is the only offensive stat that matters from it. Besides defensive stats like life and resists. I just used some low level unique with attack speed and bought a life/resist quiver at level 45 or something for 1 alch.

3. Just follow the path of the level 68 tree and grab the life nodes that are besides it. At 68 respec the life nodes and get whatever passives you are missing from the 58 tree. There really is nothing to priritizy, makes no sense because your crawler will be killing everything in a second no matter what passives you take. So why not just follow the path of the 68 tree provided.

Just thought I'd point out to people that are able to run a 3rd aura and use Flesh & Stone, getting a level 21 gem is actually an important break point for F&S because of our gear we get +1 level to it and a level 22 gem F&S gives you 12% less damage instead of 11%. The level 21 gems are pretty cheap too so it makes sense to just go ahead and get one.
