Cyclone

The instance where cyclone beats those skills hands down is against stunning mobs and chargers. You might take the damage but unless you bug out (which can happen from time to time) you can't be stunlocked by a horde of rhoas for example. That and the fact the you'll never get a block animation are the biggest strengths of cyclone. In all other instances, one of the other mentioned skills takes the cake in my opinion.
Cyclone is only unsafe because of desync. If GGG fix this, Cyclone should be the safest skill (except against lightning thorn).
You always leech. You don't deal big hits (but multiple small hits), which means you won't die to reflect. And you're immune to stun. If you link a Blind with it, melee mobs won't even touch you.

or maybe holding mouse button targeted on monster make us spin around it and not into it.

Passives are basically a bunch of defense, the AoE and elemental dmg stuff in the templar start, and Static Blows.

Cyclone is excellent for stacking shock with Static Blows and elemental proliferation. Stun/freeze immunity is nice too, and constantly moving allows you to avoid a lot of damage if done correctly.

does the Amplify Passive work with Cyclone?

I've been trying to make cyclone work for about 2 weeks now. The skill is fun as hell (always loved it since D2 back in 2000).

BUT I don't understand how it was balanced compared to cleave especially in the early levels (<50). Cleave is safer, does more damage, requires less player skill, uses up a lot less mana, doesn't desync, leeches more life etc.

I have a feeling cyclone is being penalized for being too fun. Fun skills should be overpowered IMO. Look at D2: The most fun skills were usually the most overpowered too (whirlwind, orb, multishot, blessed hammer etc.). This is what made D2 so great.

Cyclone needs to be buffed A TON (more damage, reduced mana, better scaling with lifeleech/life on hit, desync issue fixed)

with the new range i cant maintain mana leech with this skill(have 3% mana leech and 17,8 mana reg) and got much more hit from mobs because less range(have lvl 3 cyclone), before patch range change i not had problems at all with 3 support cyclone please bring back the cyclone old minimum range or think in some mana usage drastically change
Just hold the mouse further from your character :/ You don't *have* to hit the minimum range; that's why it's a minimum.
