Cyclone
The best way for the devs to balance it is to make a cleave self-found char and try to level it. Then try a cyclone self-found char. You will notice how INSANELY underpowered cyclone is.
@pupp3t The range change was much needed. The problem isn't the range, it's the very high mana consumption. It needs to be halved at least. |

" I agree with this. Any time that cyclone would be a good damage ability, cleave or something else would be a better damage ability. At low level, cyclone can't even beat sweep for dps (in practice. not just on the tooltip.) |

things to change to make this skill usefull ( cause now , its not that good ) first : make it cost less the mana , 14 to 17 should be fine this skill cost just too much mana comparasion cleave 7-10 ground slam 10-16 leap slam 14-18 lightning arrow 12-15 freezing pulse 4-23 second : make it at least 50% more range , maybe more the range on this skill is a little short for the big DMG reduce of the skill third : We should be able to recast the skill while moving , so we can relocate the position that we are going to land this will help a lot for the clearing speed as we can reattack mobs or go directly on another target + this skill wont be a opps im dead anymore forth : make the DMG increase per lvl should be area dmg increase instead of physical this would help the fact that the dps is reduce by 40% already Wish some change are comming cause now : lightning arrow, cleave, freezing pulse , etheral knive do more dmg and are 100% safer than cyclone thx a wish to see some changes with this. so does anyone know if Amplify Passive works with cyclone?
seems to me most of cyclone is fine. I don't really think it costs to much mana.. perhaps a little less mana would make it better. I don't want to see any drastic changes to the skill though.. slight buffs are fine. someone please answer my first question |

" Cleave is actually more dangerous in my experience. Also, with 1h/shield, cyclone is more DPS than cleave with 1h/shield, and it stacks shock better, which is even more DPS. " Thanks for the vids, was a nice watch. I'm with you on this skill being quite nice but I do have to say it's not the most safe skill to use in HC at least. I know it's been talked to death already but the desync is just horrendously amazing with cyclone. I've almost lost my character 2-3 times today alone from that very reason lol. It really does not help that my gear just isn't that great and coming from ranged casters I can definitely tell that equips are just THAT much more important on a melee fighter. I personally opted for windscream boots instead of Wake. I find the second curse(enfeeble) is what is allowing me to live with lesser gear. No static blows yet so I'm generally using enfeeble/elemental weakness. IGN - Dapper_The_Strapper

Not sure why there's all this negative feedback about cyclone, but I have to say I'm loving the skill so far. I'll put in my two cents about the skill as well. I'm lv68 physical cyclone duelist and cleared merciless already. So far it's working as I imagined. I see a big pack of mobs and I dive right in and press the pulse button on the blender.
DPS is fine. I'm running 2300 dps on my cyclone and I'm doing ok killing stuff in a few passes in full groups in merciless docks. Culling strike is awesome with this skill since you hit so often. I'm in the camp that says movement speed is important too. Although you will hit less since your cyclone storm passes through mobs faster, I've found that the greater maneuverability helped a lot to reposition myself and reduce wasted time due to not having control (especially in desync/lag situations). Mana cost is a bit high, but I can live with it. I took the blood magic passive, but would really like to work out a way to sustain it on mana since I can't run too many auras currently. HP is king and CI is a big No-No for this build. High hp is necessary to prevent yourself from getting stunned and stopped, and any CI cyclone build in this respect is just fundamentally flawed. Survivability is great. Aside from lightning thorns, which you have to be very very careful about but you can still survive. Take out the ranged mobs first, as the melee guys will have a hard time hitting you with all your constant repositioning. Surprisingly, chaos damage hasn't bothered me that much despite me still having -60 chaos resistance. I haven't really noticed physical reflect mobs too, perhaps due to life leeching and the many small hits generated by cyclone. Toupy - Lv93 Facebreaker Cyclone Duelist
