[0.11.2] THE BEST DW Simple Tanky High Dps Hybrid Cleave GUIDE-7 auras/30kDPS/5.5kHP/37kArm

@Sebash6
Is it ok to use 1 axe and 1 sword? I'm not getting any axe or sword specefic passives, just phys dmg+1h melee phys damage.

I'm also not getting the mana reserved passives and using alpha howl instead. Have you considered using alpha howl and respeccing the mana reserved passives?

Yes of course it's ok if you dont have any specific passives :)

Alpha howl its fine however i prefer to have high hp pool and use my helm with resists + high eva :p

Also a lot of ppl trying to use Bringer of rain, its cheaper than 6l chest

I've decided I'm going to drop haste/vitality so I don't need an alpha howl. The build already has enough attack speed and regen, and this way, I can save a gem slot by using mana leech from gear.

Just picked up this axe today, what do you think? End game worthy?

320 dps
268 physical dps

My other weapon is this:

262 dps
208 physical dps

This is my build (a bit different than yours):

I save a few points and have 2% life leech, and am thinking of picking up a few endurance charges.

Actually shit, I just did some calculations and realized even with reduced skill mana used passives, my mana leech rate isn't enough to support my 64 mana cleave. So I have to use a blood magic gem :(. What should I drop, weapon ele damage or added fire? I can't check which gives more dps cause my guy isn't very high level yet

Just swap them over and look at tooltip, whilst continuing to level the other in a spare slot or spare weps slots. Then every few levels, just alternate them in the 5L to see tooltip dps and use greater. That's how I'm doing it, just at a3 cruel and lvl 50, about to try piety.

Great guide and have been following it a bit in trying to setup a DW hybrid a few days ago when I wanted to try something different instead of my usual ranged stuff. I don't normally dig melee, but this build has been a lot of fun and I've only died once...got pinned into a corner on Merciless Docks by a pack of multi-projectile Voidbearers and...well...didn't last long. :P

Currently, my Duelist is only Level 66 and have three unspent points in my skill tree..

Current Gear (please note, only current, I do have some gear waiting in my stash to change around once I get to higher levels):
Spoiler

First question I have...I am thinking about going back and trying to potentially re-exalt the Siege Axe since I have it saved to an Eternal Orb. I'm not super good with what it can roll, but would it be possible to potentially roll Life and Mana Leech on the axe (Strength and the Life Gain on Kill were the exalted rolls), or is there something else I should shoot for?

Current spec:

I was comparing it to your tree and obviously I don't have the levels you currently do and I don't think I'll make it to level 90...85 at the most for me. After that it just gets way, way, way too grindy even for my tastes. With that said, I have a few questions regarding the tree since I'm not the biggest math wiz out there when it comes to all the game mechanics and which choices are better than others.

1. If I eventually drop the two mana passives in the Duelist area, will I still have enough mana to potentially run 6-7 auras using the Blood Magic trick? Would I need to use my Alpha's Howl for that or would I not in terms of reducing aura cost further? Also, I do intend to replace my rings eventually, but doing so will drop the mana gain from one of them. Will that be a problem, or not since at that point I won't have much extra mana to work with.

2. Mana Leech...I know with Soul Taker you don't need mana or the BM gem, but one thing I've been noticing is that without a source of ML I can't cast my curses, EC, or Decoy Totem though I can obviously swing and use Cleave/Double Strike all day. Should I get a little ML on my gear to help supplement that and try to forgo using ML gems? Or should I just link the curses and totem and EC to a Blood Magic gem?

3. Is it worth using Multistrike? I noticed you don't have it in any of your setups, and I was just curious if Faster Attacks that you use is a better choice than MS? Is it because you don't have to deal with the damage penalty from MS when dual-wielding, or something else?

4. I know that there could be some minor tweaking here and there later on in my tree, but assuming I get to 85, this is what I was aiming for:

Now the big thing about this is that it takes Inner Force, though it does leave me curious what would happen if they end up fixing the whole Blood Magic thing you showed in your video? But for the time being I'll leave it at that, though one thing I think the passive tree isn't showing and I just realized is the Intelligence on my gear. I may be able to drop both Savant nodes and save 2 points that way, at which point my next question is should I drop one of the Diamond Skin nodes and use the extra point to finish filling out the Marauder starting life nodes?

I do have a few other questions, but I think that should be enough for now and hope I didn't overwhelm you. :p I have to thank you very much for working on this build/guide as it's given me a few helpful key points to flesh out what I had in mind and use it to better effect.

Sory u had to wait but ur post was fking huge.. :P

1. About re-exalt ur axe u should try roll some ele dmg like light or fire or try go for more Physical Damage %. But idk its worth. ^^

2. About ur 85lvl passive - u should go top with those int nodes for Inner Force - u will also have open way to get those nice hp nodes like Divine Toughness etc. And it's same 5 points.

3. Remember to have hp and some chaos res on ur jewelers etc.

4. Idk u mean Mana Flows nodes, if yes that means u will still have enough mana but with 19 or 20lvl reduced mana gem to cast 7 auras. But i think u also need those reduced reserved mana nodes. Alpha howl might not help that much.

5. About mana leech etc - After i run 7 auras i linked my curse + totem with blood magic gem because u will have like 10 mana left. With only 6 auras u will have some mana left but mana regen will limit spamming those things unless u have like 1 or 2% mana leech on gear.

6. Multistrike - Yes i dont want to deal with damage penalty from MS when DW but also i like to be mobile and sometimes move when i attack with my cleave.
About MS vs FA - go for FA. If u wanna use MS - u need first FA.

Thanks for the time to reply to reply to my questions and I will certainly give the Faster Attacks gem a try instead of Multistrike. Did some gear changing around as well and currently am putting temporary points into Endurance Charge nodes as well as using Warlord's Mark along with Enfeeble...been a very nice combo. Also running them on a Blood Magic gem like you suggested and I can't believe I forgot about that one for so long. >< Other than that, also managed to 6L my chest (yeah, that in itself is a miracle in this game) and when I get to around 82 or 85, I'll be switching points to at last go down the Marauder starting zone and get those extra juicy life nodes and crit reduction stuff.
Before seeing this build I had a very similar build 2h cleaver<dw but everytime I would improve my build it would come closer to this build and in the end this is the build that works it doesn’t get better. HIGH HP, HIGH AR, HIGH DAMAGE, 7 AURAS AND A BAD ASS LOOK

Gotta say I sorta miss the high speed swings of Multistrike, but it's hard to not notice the big difference in damage by switching that out with Faster Attack gems. Also, leveling up a Dual Strike gem and going to see how that works, just kinda sucks the quality won't work with RT, but...ah well. :P
I based my onslaught duelist on this build and couldn't be happier. Thanks a bunch Sebash!
