Any ETA on fixing these ridiculous AMD FPS drops? (e: Nvidia cards affected as well!)
" It also affects Nvidia users too. In large multiplayer groups spamming LA there is no escaping the lag monster im afraid. GTX 690's lag, 7970's lag. Its just the way it is. Has nothing to do with what company your card is from or how many GHz your processor is running at. |

" I'm just saying there is some truth in GGG's message. Computer specifications:
Windows 10 Pro x64 | AMD Ryzen 5800X3D | ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero (WiFi) Motherboard | 16GB 3600MHz RAM | MSI Geforce 1070Ti Gamer | Corsair AX 760watt PSU | Samsung 860 Pro 512GB SSD & WD Black FZEX HDD |

I am using an AMD card too (radeon 6490M).
Did you ever check what POE actually uses as your graphics card? I noticed large fps drops when I started doing multiplayer maps with some other people (I'd sometimes only have 7 fps). After troubleshooting a lot, I noticed that POE actually doesn't use the radeon card, but rather uses my secondary card (which was by default on my laptop too), which was an Intel card. I only then realized that I would have to force my laptop to start poe with my radeon card, so that I wouldn't get huge fps drops. Can you check whether POE really uses your AMD card. If it does not, I might be able to help you with your problem. Else, I have no idea what the problem is, sorry. |
|
" The problem is way beyond that. Anyone with half a brain could tell immediately that their integrated on board card was being used over their dedicated card. The issue isnt even with AMD to an extent. Both Nvidia and AMD card users are reporting shitstorm performance in large groups. It just effects AMD users worse than Nvidia. I know a guy running a GTX 690 and the gameplay is choppy in large battles with 6 people. Not much you can do. Its on GGG to optimize their game to work. |
|
Well, might well be that that is not the only problem.
But what is better in your opinion: getting at least limited help with something you might not have thought off, or just having no help or feed back at all? And imagine: I didn't know until two days ago that I did have a secondary card in my pc... so guess what? It was not obvious to me that that card would be used instead of my AMD card! It works fine for me now. If you don't believe me, it's your problem. But at least I get a decent amount of fps (meaning more than 7) now and can play. It did help me, it's up to you whether you try out stuff or not. |
|
" Willing to try that. I play on a laptop though, don't know how if that matters. As far as I know I only have 1 video card, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to computers. How can I know if POE uses my Radeon card? |
