Any ETA on fixing these ridiculous AMD FPS drops? (e: Nvidia cards affected as well!)
That's correct - we'd love help tracking it down. If you have a Radeon card that exhibits problems that don't occur on Nvidia cards and it does it on a fresh copy of windows, please mail me at chris@grindinggear.com with details of the card so that we can investigate. Thanks!

I start to suspect that AMD is dominating the market nowadays and that's why it looks like it's a Radeon problem - some Nvidia users have the exact same fps spikes as we do.
I think the engine just has a serious problem with a majority of PC configurations - Most likely it was optimzied for Krips PC^^ IGN: Darkrox (not my main, just for easy contact) ~ Yes i'm the Darkrox from Runes of Magic - World's #1 Guild Pravum 2009 - 2011 ~ Last edited by Darkrox#0968 on May 13, 2013, 9:03:22 AM

Wish I hadn't spent 50$ in the first day of the open beta :(
And no, the game is not perfect - when you have soooooo maaaaany people complaining about the same single issue it means that, lo behold!, there actually IS a problem. Last edited by Ursuk#3130 on May 13, 2013, 10:30:23 AM

" While Im not going to go and format/reinstal windows, sorry value my (in)sanity too much. I think Ive found an issue. I read in the patch thread where you said.. " So I went to my CCC and tried to make a custom profile for PoE (was going to put everything on application controlled). However.. When I link the client.exe I get a pop-up with : "An AMD pre-defined application profile already exists for the selected application. do you want to override the pre-defined profile?" Well, I clicked no, then went hunting for it, but I cannot find it..so maybe these weird settings are being set by AMD themselves? I will probably go ahead later this evening and try making a custom PoE profile. See if that changes anything. Last edited by Xenthian#7927 on May 13, 2013, 2:19:59 PM

" Can you please elaborate on the weird settings you previously investigated? I am happy to adjust my settings, although they are the default CCC settings. As far as I know there hasn't been an official post about proper CCC settings or settings that may conflict with the game. Love the game and I want to play but this is becoming very frustrating! |

I have little to no issues. I have a Sapphire radeon HD 6850.
Loading times can be long and when new things are spawned (like summon skeletons) I get spikes but i think it's because of my HDD not my GPU. |

" I would assume this is just the same story as the nvidia cards. nvidia has a profile of dozens of games stored, so when I look in the nvidia control panel poe comes up as a 'dragons: mmo' game, or something like that, because the poe executable is named client.exe -- same as the dragons mmo. for anybody with nvidia cards -- you could try the geforce sli profile tool linked in this thread and see if that helps any. http://forums.anarchy-online.com/showthread.php?t=591166 |

" It's possibly the case for some users, where multiple games have been installed, however, on a clean system install, with only PoE and no ATI presets/caps and CCC settings on default, I still see the instant frame drops. I would also say, for me at least, this is mostly apparent in Act 3. Personally, I have my doubts about this being a GPU issue, as the problem seems to be apparent on a very wide range of cards, from both ATI and Nvidia. |

I'm not suggesting it's simply a gpu issue, just looking for anything that might make play smoother.
it doesn't have anything to do with previous game installs --- we have never had the dragons game on our machines, it's a preloaded profile. |

I managed to solve my constant FPS drops by removing and re-installing the game.
Perharps something went corrupted in the patching process. (Although I did run the Packcheck several times). Last edited by Exalton#4913 on May 14, 2013, 7:20:03 AM
