vulnerability is far superior than projectile weakness. the damage it provides blows every other curse away. and why would anyone use chain or fork? worst support gems for ek.

The 44% from 20/20 Vulnerability only affects the physical damage TAKEN by mobs and not any elemental damage from Hatred or Added Fire because those are conversions calculated when the spell is cast not when it lands.

With just Hatred running and assuming Inner Force passives it adds 32% cold damage to EK or total EK damage is 132% of base physical.

With 20/20 Vulnerability it is 100%x(1.44)+32% = 176% total EK damage from base physical.
With 20/20 Projectile Weakness it is (100%+32%)(1.34) = 176.88% total EK damage from base physical. Added Fire would be even higher.

The only reason Vulnerability has a 'slight' DPS advantage is how armor mitigation is calculated for physical damage, but as I said the effectiveness of Projectile Weakness is superior due to piercing, which allowing you to AoE any number of mobs instead of letting the front ones be meat shields.

Doesn't ek naturally pierce? - it has a short range, yes, but I thought It just always naturally pierced.
Mess with the best, die like the rest.
I was looking at the Shadow guide for EK and noticed he has IIQ/IIR linked to his EK. Could you also do that with this build w/o gimping yourself? I find my 59 EK Shadow very squishy and am currently making a EK Marauder to see how they compare.

Should I scour and re-craft or go ahead with exalting this staff ? Its ilvl 79, and I have gotten the best level of mods for the Spell/Mana and the Crit multiplier mod (If I'm not mistaken).

If I should recraft, what should be the best mods I get on the magic rolls before regal ?

I believe you can get up to 108 spell damage on staffs.

Its the highest spell damage/mana hybrid mod level. :/ But I've decided to scour it :)

No, it doesn't have any innate piercing, which is why some choose to go fork or chain.
Digging the build.

The chance to Vaal +1% maximum resists on an amulet is less than 1/300.

another good staff
Vulnerability is clearly better than projectile weakness. Do not use fork or chain, it's far less damage cause of how armor works.

How many chaos orbs did you spend to get the +1 to skills? Also, how much tooltip DPS does that add to EK (the gem itself)

People can continue to assert this all they want, but I've actually made an argument for why that isn't true.

Yes, 20/20 vulnerability in terms DPS per target is higher. However, it is not that much higher given it is only increasing the physical damage component of the projectile while Projectile Weakness increases both the physical and the elemental damage. In addition to that the pierce increases the number of targets potentially hit and prevents front line mobs from meat shielding ones behind them.
so etup got passive that gives him more block chance and total of 30% block chance include % block chance from the staff too

The question is does it worth it ? for 30% block chance 4 points for it
