[0.11.0] Etup's EK Build

Not sure why if this was already asked but why aren't you using fork or chain?

I've tried all combinations and like Etup I use Faster Projectiles not just because it is a little safer against reflect, but also it is just more effective and efficient especially solo. By that I mean it is more effective and efficient to cast a few times to clear everything up to off screen in one direction then it is to cast once for a pack of mobs and several times for stragglers that weren't close enough.

While I'm here I might as well make a few suggestions for those who are trying this build into higher maps (mostly for non-Kaoms). One of the biggest benefits of this build is the ability to do most of the nastier map mods. Still there are a few that people typically are cautious of and/or avoid and these are some tips to not have to do that.

For 20% Physical Reflect I suggest looking to get Chernobog's Pillar.

This high armor shield in combination with the physical conversion to fire and swapping Iron will with Added Fire takes all the bite out of physical reflect.

For -Maximum Resist & Added x% Elemental damage I suggest investing in Saffell's Frame.

This with Elemental Adaption and Inner Force + Purity will put max resists at 90% and so even with the worst -Max roll you'll still have 65%. Also, the shield still provides some DPS, Armor, and spell defense.

For 50%/No Regen mods I have fallen in love with Devouring Totem. A lot of people underestimate this skill because in most situations it is lack luster or its function is redundant. However, this totem linked with Faster Casting can provide an effective ~200 health regen per sec in a map where there is no regen, which becomes incredibly important when facing mobs that after killing still leave damaging status effects, poison clouds, damaging ground effects, etc... It basically just saves you from having to use flasks to top off or like having a second set when fighting a nasty pack or boss.

In the end having and using these has saved me a fair bit of chaos by not having to worry about a few dangerous combinations on an otherwise decent roll, which will quickly covered the cost of getting the shields and worth the time spent leveling devouring.

thanks for that info Hackuseme, ill be sure to give these a go.

hey man ur build is pro!! why dont u post it on exilepro... kripp could help u to reach fame^^
vulnerability is actually greater than projectile weakness for ethereal knives.
2 short questions: Why dont you use chain? And how do you deal with phys reflect? Is it true you can pretty much ignore it with high armor?

Tup Tup, goddamn its hard to roll a good staff. I've settled for a staff w/o any spell damage.

@Hackuseme, thanks for the pro-tip.

@dan1986, once your EK can reach the end of the screen with Faster Projectiles, I don't think chain would do as much good as another support (think added fire etc.)
The chance to Vaal +1% maximum resists on an amulet is less than 1/300.

would it be good idea to add righteous fire to this build for extra spell dmg?

No because you'll kill yourself on phys reflect

Main skill on a 6link use life leech + faster projectiles + added fire + iron will + faster casting. Quality on these gems are all very strong. 5 link drop life leech. 4 link drop faster casting.

Quoted from the first post. So do we actually use BM for EK ?

Phys reflect does nothing to me at the moment, and I "only" have 11k armour.

That's my setup, with dps maxing out at 4,5k dps with Hatred and Haste.

Also, wands
