Wait..WHAT? I need HP in a CI build?
You don't need to stack it. I fail to understand why everyone is complaining so much about this.
This was never a problem in CB. You got stunned, chilled, ignited, shocked just as often. | |

Actually I didn't. Since the chance to proc is based off of crits and dmg dealt, having low hp in CB still led to those status.effects being "set off". Resists didn't even matter. I wore a dream fragments than as well. Although I personally never wore a chayula, I know many that did.
Despite the fact that they were issues for CI builds, people had no qualms, that I recall, of wearing those uniques. Now, they do. Why? Edit: just to make myself clear. If CI was equivalent to hp for status ailments, what would the drawback than? Most people will use CI+GR, which is a different topic, however those two synergize incredibly well, especially for casters. With the amount of points you gain by not taking hp nodes, you still gain more than you lose from adding more ES% nodes. Last edited by SL4Y3R on Mar 1, 2013, 5:56:16 PM

" We also lost around 5k ES at the top end since CB. So sure we get stunned/chilled/etc the same, but now we also get blasted to hell far more too for our trouble. I just don't understand the logic behind the ES nerf along with the CI nerf. First, let's add negative resists to chaos to make CI more appealing, then let's nerf CI to make it less appealing overall, then let's nerf ES on top of it to fuck over anyone who uses it at all, even (or rather more completely) the pure ES classes. If you used hybrid ES/Whatever armors, the nerf had a far lesser impact on you, but then you were also less likely to be specced CI. At the moment, it simply is far FAR more effective to run HP/Armor or HP/Evasion then it is to run pure ES. Last edited by Raezzor on Mar 1, 2013, 6:17:47 PM

" While I do agree that the ES nerf was too harsh (not in regards to CI). That is not what this thread is about. Hence why I stated I did not understand why people were complaining about the status ailments. Last edited by SL4Y3R on Mar 1, 2013, 7:18:03 PM

Status ailments and stuns have always been the bane of CI, the 2 uniques are kinda mandatory - tho you might end up not using them 100% of the time, depending on build/playstyle/map you want to have them available. By no means should you take HP in CI build imo, just learn they're your bane (as puncture is as well) and learn to live with that.
Now the thing is, it was a tradeoff for having larger pool than HP was, and it made different gameplay style... With the 'larger pool/buffer' no longer being the case the whole ES thing is shit now imo - not because of CI nerf itself but nerfs on too many levels and the fact you can't stack it as high/easily etc etc - but thats another story and horse long dead for me to deral this thread into. |
