Hacked Accounts
I don't want to see a rant either about how you shouldn't use the same password on other sites or that your computer isn't secure.
1. I don't use the same password on other sites. 2. I have great security on my computer. 3. I didn't get phished like a retard. I want a rollback on my stuff that was lost. |

Hacked here as well.
Like everyone else, despite a thorough check of my system, I cannot rule out the problem is on my end. We never can. However, like many posters, I've been playing online for 15 years, from BBS networking to full blown internet gaming. I have never been hacked, even in high exposure games such as Wow. Working in IT, I consider myself quite educated on security issues. Thus I find it quite surprising that PoE would be my first hacking experience. I also find suspicious the synchronicity in these obviously scripted hacking waves (the hacking is apparently not performed by humans, otherwise why would quality gems, 6L and other worthy uniques be left intact?). Although I do not doubt your competence, and although I do not deny that you handle the matter with obvious attention and with an agreable human approach, I find it quite presomptuous that you would dismiss any problem on your end. I won't invest further energy in the matter, as I've already uninstalled this otherwise great game. For obvious reason, there's a severe breach of trust here, and in a grinding game trust is, alas, everything. Restoring it will take more than repeating obvious security guidelines and rejecting the blame on players (like Blizzard did when confronted with the same issue on Diablo 3 when it was obvious they themselves had been compromised). Furthermore, your stance on restoring items and generally, on account support is going to be harder and harder to justify. The beta excuse is starting to be a bit too convenient, while at the same time there is nothing beta about your perfectly functionnal (and quite expensive in fact) microtransaction system. At some point, players are going to expect an account support matching the investment they make. Well, it had to be said, but otherwise PoE remains a great game and a breath of fresh air in the PC market. I wish you all the best! Peace!
I think hackers knew the anti-hack patch was coming and decided to do a massive raid for all the accounts they had the passwords for...

" Good post, GGG listen to this man. I was raging before but this represents my feeling very much so!
" Fixed that for you. No wonder you got hacked. Last edited by Selanmer on Feb 22, 2013, 2:30:57 PM

Just 1 question,
Why are you wasting time restoring accounts that openly admit to using map hacks? Just send them a reply of "LOL" and be done with them, let them sit in the crappy situation they created for themselves.
What I'm curious about ...
If GGG puts into place a second verification system (they have one already, but many arr saying it's not enough) ... THen what if we *do* want to play from a different city? I live in 2 different areas (about an hour's drive away), and travel back and forth a lot. Am I going to have to contact support every single time (once or twice a week) to sort out a lockout mess? Invited to Beta 2012-03-18 / Supporter since 2012-04-08
