Season One, Race Event 1: One Hour Solo

At the one hour point I am hopeful that I kill Merveil. I aim to be level 12 when I kill her. I think most folks will fail to get any prizes in this event.

I went to see the results of the one hour calibration race and note that the top 20 participants reached at least level 15 and no more than 18. A lot of folks did get 13/14.

I understand that this is a race, and that racing is fun just for the sake of racing, but most participants in this race will leave empty handed. Is that your intention?
it's a shame. i thought the fun part during the calibration races was progression and not farming western forest or docks.

but i feel the RP are too low for progression. If you progress, you will lose some level, wich means, there is no more reward for first in progression at all, only more risk.

even more worse is the fact, that only the first one on progression-steps is rewarded. as a casual player i cant do progressionen in races because i will never be the first. but i could get into the low level farming rewards. and as a professional gamer i dont think you are going to try to kill piety (example) and spending all the risk and levels to get in the end "only" second with no rewards.

besides that, there are no rewards fo killing brutus and so on, like said before.
I think it is meant to be a very competitive event such that the "casual" player doesn't get much, and I don't have a problem with that.

That being said, I do think it would be neat if there was some kind of reward for killing bosses. 1RP for mini-bosses (Brutus, Bandits, Gravicus) and 2RP for end bosses (Merveil, Vaal, Piety) or something like that could be cool. Maybe double the RP for first kills. Something that isn't very much to trivialize grinding, but also just a little something to encourage some progression.

What happens to your stash when the event finishes? Is it lost, or transferred somewhere?

You're playing the game for an hour . . . you get an hour's worth of orbs and a new character. Anybody that's worried about getting 13 just go shadow with PA and fire trap and don't bother with merveil - easy mode 13.
HOW do you sign up?
Ok, my only question, kind of new to this game still.

Won't the people who already have high hardcore characters, and a stash full of hardcore gear, not have a clear advantage? How is someone who has never even played hardcore possibly going to compete?

Or am i missing something?

Edit: Nvm, I just saw it's it's own league, awesome. Sign me up :D So cool..

The stash tabs that are used in a race is added to the parent league's stash as remove only tabs.
Why not add progression goal rewards that everyone can achieve (reserving extra rewards for the first to do it)?

And ofcourse rewards for Brutus / Merveil and similiar stuff in act 2 / act 3.

Also it makes little sense to me that the longer races have exactly the same rewards, except for the level requirements being higher.
I love the format, except for some details:

- 2pts for Hillock only possibly rewards shadows =(
- no points for progression makes 2h races very, very boring (1h western forest, yay!)
- Clearing the cave in 1h should reward everyone, not just the first. You basically give up level 17+ by doing this. This would be a fun challenge after Merveil.

I hope the format will be tweaked along the way, but truth be told, I'm in either way.
