now some things to think about in closed beta playercountwas maybe 4k now its 70k+ 1% would be 700 hacked accounts and you guys speak about a big security breach ? someone said its 100 hacked accounts so actually under 0.25% have been hacked i find this very amusing cause i read this thread hundreds of time in my 34 years i never got hacked but i admit after reading this i installed an addaware and switched of the password reminder after i changed it to a more colmplex one just healthy paranoia iam looking forward to iam so smart i didnt do anything and got hacked threads so keep it coming guys the only think that i am intrested in is to know how save are poe statistics xyz and helper and wiki i will avoid them for the next time to be save https://poe-ssf.herokuapp.com/. I have also just been hacked, All orbs of value were taken, and both my high lvl characters were deleted, lvl 82 ranger and lvl 84 witch, I'm hoping the characters can be restored, but I know the items are gone forever.

Well just logged in. All my currency of value is gone. Good news now is that I don't need to buy any more stash pages as I have room now...Don't really see how this happened. Don't do shit, don't visit retarded sites. Exciting, at least I have some time to decide if I want to farm from scratch again or not.

People really need to be using unique passwords. If you're not certain that your POE password is one that you created entirely for the purpose of this game, you should change it to a new one immediately.

I want to trust GGG in this case. They admit mistakes, and I'm inclined to believe them when they say that they weren't compromised.
I lost some items. In this case, I'm most likely the weak link. I used the exact same password a million different places (not related to PoE) over the last long while, and I bet I'm not the only one! Any one of those could've been compromised long before I even started playing this game. Yes, am now setting up new and randomised passwords on all the services I use regularly, and you should do the same, just to be cautious. If you don't trust GGG, well, there isn't really anything to be done about that, unless you can come up with some tangible proof. |
