I find funny that this is the same nonsense that happened during diablo3 release. People claiming Blizzard security had been breached, that "hackers" could steal your information right out of public games and other nonsense, just because there were large numbers of account being compromised. The fact is if there was actually a breach, the numbers would look way different. Instead of dozens of people crying about massive hacks, it'd be thousands. It'd be everyone really. They'd automate the process of looting the account and you'd see hundreds and hundreds of accounts compromised PER MINUTE. Instead, it's those "massive hacks" with a whooping 1 account every few hours being compromised. Yep, has to be a security breach for sure.
It's sad you got hacked but it's 100% your fault.

One thing to bear in mind is that it's not necessarily about the security of the computer, but also about the simple question: Was this password ever used for another game or site?
We're finding so many people who use the same passwords on various services (to be honest, I do a lot of the time - that's how I lost my D3 account). This seems to be accounting for a decent portion of the account compromises.
Either way, the security changes (less than 48 hours!) should make it a thing of the past.

Understand this, my computer goes though daily checks for work (well when ever I remote in), any breach on my computer is an issue to the county, all my logs have been checked and verified not just by me but my supervisor and other co-workers, there was no breach on this system.
He says the account gets locked when it now it gets "slowed" down. there is no locking to the account.
Please, do explain just what is keeping your PC so secure. Because I bet it could beat it with just a basic, fud R.A.T.
Super secure computer that is audited and is allowed to play Poe... righhhhhht.
It's my home computer that is used for gaming and work. The county isn't going to buy you a computer to remote in from. That would be a waste of tax payers money.
The most I can say is AV, IDS like software, and file integrity software hardware and software firewalls. Can't go into it any more.

That will still not get us back what we have already lost, will it? It's a lost cause. Agreed that probably a minority of the entire population got hacked, but it was still due to this minority that the development team realized the urgency for better security features. Doesn't that count for something?
It's a clear win-lose situation here and that's unfair. Utterly disappointing.
GGG should really take a look at this matter more seriously. You have already lost a sum of supporters/players due to this incident and have caused fear/anxiety in current players. You might inevitably lose greater support and dwindle down to the pits, if this spirit of ignorance carries on.

1. You dont care about your safty(you got hacked in d3 aswell). If you dont care, why should GGG?
2. Its a Beta.

So you remote into a PC with all those features, but play on a computer without them, or you are saying the county audits your personal pc as well?

Chris, dude, i truly love you, but...
You're saying that 100+ people, all of them on the same websites, all of them had the same account and passwords as this F2P game?
Seriously?
Even if we count that 30+ got hacked, and i truly doubt it, then we have 70+ all of them on the same site with the same credentials as this?

So then you have a computer that is required to be insanely secure, and is audited, yet you are able to play PoE on it?
