It's my home computer that is used for gaming and work. The county isn't going to buy you a computer to remote in from. That would be a waste of tax payers money.

The most I can say is AV, IDS like software, and file integrity software hardware and software firewalls. Can't go into it any more.

So you remote into a PC with all those features, but play on a computer without them, or you are saying the county audits your personal pc as well?

That is what is on my computer that I use for work / gaming.

So then you have a computer that is required to be insanely secure, and is audited, yet you are able to play PoE on it?

I'm not sure what is so hard to understand that people use their personal computers to remote into work all the time...

I play PoE, starcraft 2, cs:go, civ, torchlight 2, d3, blah, blah, blah.

Hell the huge security issue all over the country everyone talks about is people bringing their own smartphones in and how to secure the network from that.

I didn't catch that part... it's been a long day. Why can't you go into more detail about what is on your own computer?

NDA, and part of the policy can't talk about the software, or name any.

You have an NDA about the software that you can install on your home pc. Seems fishy to me? This American govt work?

It's not my software, it's licensed to the county. As I work for the county, yes it is US Government. But not like FBI / NSA / White house shit, just local county or think of it as collection of cites within a state if you're not from america and have no idea what a county is.

By releasing the name (a mistake a lot of companies do) of any software opens up it's own security holes.

Also to make clear, I have not. (well not intentionally I might of last night when I was tired) stated that any one has gotten inside GGG's network or gotten any part of the master password files, or any type of breach on their side. Everything I've suggested that could of happened just theroycrafting more or less. GGG will not (and for good reason) ever give me the logs to review on their network, so I have not looked that them so I can't say for sure what took place on their network. But at the moment I'm not 100% trusting in what they have been saying. All I can do is to check any tracks left on my computer. If it was malware there would be some type of track and there are no tracks on my computer and nothing to suggesting log files were tampered with. (cross verified by at least 2 people)

I'm from the states, just confused because I've done a lot of work for the govt in the IT sector over the years and they have never had NDAs. Not really calling you a liar because I know some places are crazy like that, just seems odd to me.

I've worked with some real serious shit in my time, Army TS systems, CIA TS systems, and state level S systems. Never had to deal with any NDA's about security implementations.

I don't know anything about what they have in place so I can't speak for them. But that is kinda strange if they have no health checks when remoting in. Our health checks are not nearly as bad as Microsoft, it takes 15-20 minutes on a good computer with a good connection to remotely login to the Microsoft network. I live in the Seattle area I have some friends that work there that complain about it, but don't know many details on what the system is doing.

The fact that they restore other peoples stuff and not mine is fucked up. If you're not well known on the internet they won't do anything for you.
