[2.6] The Curse Whisperer - Tri-Curse CI Whispering Ice Elementalist - Viable for Everything
hey guys.
different question: how good would ignite be with this build? do you think it would be worth it to remove elemental focus and use CD instead + some izaro's turmoil jewels AND flammability instead of warlords mark? which gets me to the next question. what would happen if you remove life leech gem OR warlords mark? isn't 2% leech enough? okay the initial hits arent high for a high ignite dmg but flammability would add some really nice dps right? for example on shaper where leech isnt that important? maybe u gotta avoid staying in the beam then? regards!
Ignite would not be worth it, for the same reason ignite isn't worth it with firestorm. For ignites you want one big hit (like flameblast), not a bunch of little ones overwriting each other.
U MAD?

" Yes. Leveling guide and trees will be updated when GGG updates the tree.
"How about ignite with emberwake and the taming? Just with those 2 rings you do want lots of little hits stacking up the spell damage. |
|
" Doesn't ignite only apply to the damage of 1 icestorm shard? That isn't high, and most enemies die in around 1 second, so anything that's DoT isn't that good except against bosses. Also losing Doedre's damning and Pyre (or 1 or 2 perandus on the league) is probably a bad idea. 10% increased int is a lot. Btw, do unique jewels count for the ring?
" Icestorm hits 10 times per second. Emberwake + The Taming = 10% chance to ignite, i.e. each Icestorm will result in avg 1 ignite per second, and they will stack because of Emberwake. Each ignite lasts 4 sec. So in the max case (spamming Icestorm on an immobile boss) you can have 14 Icestorms going on at the same time x 3 ignites from each Icestorm active at the same time = 42 ignites. The Taming converts that into 420% increased damage. The damage from ignite itself will still be irrelevant: it's 42 * 0.2 (ignite) * 0.2 (emberwake) * 4.2 (the taming) = 0.17 of one Icestorm hit per second. But the 420% increased damage will apply to the Icestorm hit damage too. Sounds nice on paper. But where can you find a target that will stand still for over 5 sec while active (i.e. this is not pre-casting, it needs to be actually getting hit)? The Shaper stops for 5 sec to channel his beam, but then he moves just as you reach this peak DPS. I can't think of any other boss that would just stand still for so long. And this would not work at all against the bosses that cannot be ignited (Atziri, Trio, Phoenix). Losing 1 curse and a ring worth of Int (Perandus Signet gives you about 200 Int at high levels) will also hurt. " No. I wish!! Last edited by Kelvynn on Mar 1, 2017, 6:44:30 PM

Since orb of storms is only (or am I wrong?) in the build to proc elemental overload, if we spec AoF will Orb proc Elemental Overload still, or do we have other measures to do that? Do we crit enough with the build to keep EO up if thats not the case?
| |
" AoF doesn't change crit at all though? It remains the same.
" Well yeah, but isnt Ball of Lightning / Orb of lightning (Lightning school) going to do zero damage =/= cant crit Last edited by Spooh on Mar 1, 2017, 8:46:32 PM

" It's not just for proccing EO (see Q&A). It doesn't need to do any actual damage to trigger EO. This build was using it with AoF+CtF before Pyre just fine. |
