Yeah HP nodes are just mathematically a better choice to take up to a point in softcore too. This will probably get fixed though since you need a huge amount of hp nodes before it's any point in taking damage.

" I'm sure there are some very good players out there but most people spam totems or summons and party dynamics (auras/ charges) at maps. Without these gimmicks soloing after 75 is quite diff. | |

At first I thought the skill/leveling system would be amazing..
But then I realized I am not nearly smart enough to comprehend/preplan a build, hell im not even good enough to copy a build then beat the game on its hardest current difficulty. Fixed it for you OP. Invasion - No Sacrifice No Glory

Skill tree has degraded since I played CB. Doing any real fun builds without tons of points into life is a crap shoot in default and HC; especially HC. The best build you can have in HC is grabbing every single HP node you possibly can.
It doesnt hurt to do this in SC either, since you get very little return for anything else; and dying sucks in either league. I have made multiple characters since OB; I made tons of characters back in CB a year ago. I feel like I had far more diversity in builds and planning back then than I do now. Lots of keystones basically feel mandatory if you are close to them; HP nodes are pretty much mandatory. Everyone pretty much has the same builds nowadays. Too much focus in both leagues on survivability; back when I played CB you didn't need 150-200% hp nodes, a billion resists, etc. You had more freedom in picking stuff on the trees. As it stands now, you basically are forced to grab most of all the HP nodes in your area, and even other classes. You are forced to grab most of the resist nodes you can get to, like diamond skins. Then, you are probably forced into whatever keystone is near you, because it is too good and/or the options are far worse. This leads to very generic survival builds with everyone basically looking exactly the same minus a couple damage nodes here or there. OP speaks the truth. The game is too defensive minded atm, and stats like armor/es/evasion sucks in comparison to HP nodes, and then damage nodes usually give very poor returns, too. So most of the time you are simply better off getting hp nodes over either. |

The passive tree is a huge problem, especially when you realize most nodes/paths are worthless to follow. Add in the fact that the game isn't really fun to play anyway, and you have to wonder why the game even bothers to exist when it offers no entertainment value whatsoever. Should have been a flash based stat points simulator. Would have been much cheaper to produce.

This Deceptionist guy is such a pompous douche in every thread he posts in. It is kind of entertaining.

Stacking HP is the effect of good players building in HC. The "metagame" in HC is based on the restriction that you cannot die ever. The most effective way to do this is to stack HP or ES.
If there was a permanent cut-throat league, players would not only stack HP. Some people might stack Evasion, or some, may stack damage, just so they can 1 or 2 shot an HP guy. I need more purple titles

well if your gonna make a game or play a game based around how much hp you have.. just make it so if you stack the hell out of hp you will be doing negligible dmg, that way it will force you to focus on dps.
but right now yes i die so much in default mode i have no intention to even try HC. the game isnt bad something just feels very very off. |
