Do we even know the system requirements for PoE?
I can't find the information anywhere..

Playing and supporting POE for over 2 years, now is over, by by GGG.
Game does not start at all after patching (no problems with patching).

W7 steam, no sp1 (i will not install sp1!).

Let's focus on a solution instead of senselessly flaming GGG. They've made a great game. I'm sure they'll find ways to fix these issues. They're real people, just like you, and they're reading this, and believe me, the last thing they want is to disappoint their players. Be kind. Be patient. I know, I know, this is the internet, and nothing can stop you from being an infantile troll, but believe it or not, it's not helping anything when you lash out emotionally. It just makes you look bad, honestly.

OK, so I'm on Windows 7. No SP1. For some reason, I can't install SP1. I'm going back to page ten or so of this thread and trying the one fix that looked like it might work for me. I will post about the results.

you're better off making a bug report in the bug report - section or search on reddit.

OK, so GGG made me a junkie I LOVE THIS GAME,

So, it took me 10hours (tried to upgrade to SP1, for some reason i cant do that, checked it like 3 times)
Reinstaled everything related to MSV
Nothing helps, still cant lunch game nor instal SP1 - i think its time for me to upgrade for Win10,

error 0x80004005 (after computer restars, loads some files for SP1 and at the 99% error occures and simply just load previous windows version.)

Just thought i'd post my solution here for windows 8.1 users that worked for me

*FIXED FOR ME* WINDOWS 8.1 USERS YOU NEED THIS UPDATE (KB2919355)

64bit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42335


make sure that update is installed, it is quite big, and you may need some pre-requisites to be installed beforehand. update everything in windows update until you get that one.

once that is done, the 2015 redist will install just fine.

so yeah, if you havnt done a windows update for a while, you are going to need to.



Make sure its installed, you need it. Also (KB2999226) may need (KB2919355) to work

Cant play, game dont open, Im using steam.

Okay, I upgrade windows 7 to sp1 finally, and I have installed both x86 and x64 vc dist 2015. I can open the client now, but it closes immediately once it comes to loading screen. I have really no idea to fix it now as it's obviously not Microsoft problem at this point. Hopefully GGG will get it done soon.

PS: really disappointed that GGG reply the crush in Reddit only again.
