[3.0] Legasi's Masterpiece - Trivialize Bossfights! Shaper Deathless! Boss Guides inside! HC
Ok I'll try to upload the sheet somewhere soon
" Oh, the 40% FS damage double-dips? Not too meh then, just a bit meh. Btw, with the wording they used it's very confusing that it double-dips :/ Added Chaos... Let's do the math: FS 22 base dmg: 241.5 avg chaos part with 45% conv: 108.675 AC 21 base dmg: 237 avg added chaos with 30% effectiveness: 71.1 71.1 / 108.675 ~= 65.4% It seems my number of 72% came from AC 21 + FS 21, I didn't account for mantle's +1. Whatever, 65% is still BiS with 45% conversion. No wonder it was bad with 100% conversion: it goes down to 29.5%. Method of Madness is for later, for the longest levels. I figured that, with The Taming, I don't really care about +50% dmg when I already reach +2000. Instead I care about having one more jewel or not. Quality on curses is not that interesting to me. To be honest, the only curse effect I would like to increase (but can't, ofc ^^) is "effects expire slower" from TC. With Blasphemy or CoH + Enhance, it would be boosted. With a Vaal Regalia and a Vertex / Heretic Veil, it could work. I have other priorities for my few exalted than experimenting on it, for now, and the dmg boost is not gigantic anyway (about 25% more poison on shaper). Since it can't be boosted anyway as it is, I'm tempted to grab a TC on hit glove. It would ensure bosses are perma-TCed, which otherwise isn't guaranteed for those bosses I have to kite (atzi, shaper), and also that all mobs I kill are cursed and therefore can explode. I played the regular build for a while since I was too poor for The Taming. It's played the same. It's not necessary: I do atziri without even swapping the rings and win anyway. But for hp bags like shaper it's simply the strongest dmg boost there is. However, there are slight optimization considerations that have consequences on regular gameplay: It all boils down to ignite stacking. We want as much of it as possible, otherwise the dmg boost on bosses would not be very high and thus not worth it. Dmg explode starting at 200 stacks, but it's really hard to achieve. We have two options: crit or chance to ignite. Crit is a waste with EO, but why not? It's hard to stack to 90%, jewels get expensive and we need a power charge strategy which is either clunky (pcoc), expensive (skyforth) or costs two ascendency points; also without EO our ignite fallback on Chimera is halved. Chance to ignite, OTOH, is comparatively easy: the Chance to Ignite support gem gives 51%, 5 jewels give 15% (+25% duration), tree can easily give 15% (+20% duration). Total is around 90% chance, +45% duration. For ignite stacking, we also want to maximize hit rate from FS. For this I removed all inc AoE radius nodes and used the explosion aoe radius enchant. This is where it affects gameplay: clear speed is slowed from this. For gems I'm still not sure what's best, maybe an Increased Duration on FS instead of VM would be better, I'll have to check. Right now I use CE > VM > CtI. With all this I'm still at "only" 165 ignites on shaper, with sustained cast. I'm sorry but eva stacking is a no for me. The new map mods make this strategy unstable. Anyway, when I die it's either due to desync, freeze (UI), freeze (status), atziri (spell), or being tired and missing an obvious Frost Bearer threat in the middle on the screen or the numerous bleeding orbs around me. Evasion is not the answer to my problems. Note: my flask setup is a temporary solution dating from when I used ZO, don't look at it too much ^^ |

Hey thank you very much for all of this, so helpful! I wish I could add input on your level of knowledge, but I can't (yet). I will try to digest what you say and test what I can by myself. Thanks so much.
But I do have a couple more questions (newbish), perhaps you have a moment. The first is regarding this comment here: " I don't understand that in the context. Method of Madness is 22% increased Chaos damage. The Taming seems to increase elemental damage? Do you mean that you have 2000% increased chaos damage already (looks like you have about 140% increased from the tree?)? The second, these: " That sounds good, is there an easy way to go about that without spending a fortune however? Just to test, I searched poetrade for a helmet with at least 300 ES and some cold damage (What I have now), and it showed up zero results for any firestorm enchantment. There is nothing out there I could buy even if I could afford it. The only ES helmets I could find with firestorm enchants dont have cold resistances, ok, and I saw one for 3 ex and one for 15. Is that worth it? Buying one (I might be able to scrape together my currency for 3ex, but I dont have 15) would mean having to fiddle about with the rest of my gear too then (for resists). A pair of boots with leech enchant and ES and runspeed were going for 225 ex (is that a joke?)! Thinking about spending my next 3 points on Faith and Steel, perhaps, for the bit of ES and the 8% resists for a bit more flexibility? One more question @niic: Why don't you get Atrophy? Isn't increased duration good for you, and since you are aiming for both poison and ignite, wouldn't the DoT increase be good? Or am I missing something again here? Final question for anyone: I finally got my last trial. I'm no good in those lab things, it's sort of embarrassing. I was wondering two things. Thing 1: When is a good time for me to try Über Lab for the first time? I don't want to waste my 6 offerings with dying (and of course losing exp is no fun). Thing 2: I read somewhere that some people offer Lab services, and that this is not considered cheating. Not sure if that is something for me. I basically pay a fee for that person to help me, right? And I am guessing that that person has a lab-optimized build, which would be really really fast -- wouldn't that person be totally annoyed with my slowness (especially with me having to actually navigate the traps without a teleport spell like mirror arrow)? Thanks tons. Underrated stats: Basic human decency, small quantum of respect, microportion of compassion Last edited by onomastikon#6270 on Jan 6, 2017, 5:11:35 AM

Taming provides increased generic (!) damage per ignite on the enemy. His other ring Emberwake allows "unlimited" ignites on an enemy. => Shitton of inc damage
I'd say don't worry too much about the helmet, that's just icing on the cake and not worth it from my casual player perspective, but definitely go enchant your boots. Just do a few Uber labs and stop enchanting them when you get leech, regen, oder stun avoid. You should definitely go for Skittering Runes in your tree next. If you mean Entropy, it doesn't double dip or boost the hit damage, and he already has more than enough damage from EmberTaming combo. The points are better spend otherwise. [I should really include this 'how to scale damage' stuff in the guide, every few pages someone asks the same question again] The ZO version of the build is a great lab runner! Izaro pretty much can't kill you, you just have to stay calm doing the trap parts. You can also bring a Flame Dash gem along. If you still are not confident take a service, something along the lines of "You offering, shared loot". My Build Compendium: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1634158

For the enchants, I totally agree with Legasi:
boots -> run yourself or using a lab service helm -> buy one with no res. It's easy to compensate with res on gloves, boots and shield anyway Indeed the ZO version is good for lab, but still not invincible. Last good lab day, Izaro fully charged was really scary. Also it's easy to go through traps with such a bad timing that death is the only possible result As VP version, it's still doable: Izaro is way less a threat but bad timings are even less forgiving. For Entropy, yes I'm probably gonna take it. Another option would be to clear a couple of chaos dmg wheels and grab the second skill effect duration cluster, but it would be bad for clearspeed BTW, I've been told that Increased Duration gem does increase the poison too, if it links to the skill (must be a duration skill). It changes things. For clearspeed it's still bad, but for sustained dps it's now better than VM, even without taming. With taming it's... insane. I'll have to make more useful and difficult number crunching to really sort it out, like "how long for 50 or 100 stacks" and "how long for killing this boss starting with no stacks / with precast FS". Right now I only reach max dps after 10s or so, and therefore max dps is not meaningful at all since everything dies before that. |

I'm going to start this build and wanted to make a VP version. In order to get more reliable leech i want to run WM on blasphemy. Is this tree ok or am I missing something? http://poeurl.com/Zcl I'm reserving 60% of my mana and I'm missing AA.

for best damage in single target i must use fs>cwc>wither>conc effect>vm>inc duration? or added chaos last? and i actually have only 5l now, so what better? i planing farm uber izaro.

CWDT WM leech is 100% reliable. You only need to leech after you take damage anyways.
Boot enchant is another good source of leech. ______ Just stick to the guide. The damage even with EO and CD is insane already, while feeling best to play. Added Chaos is only worth it at very high gem levels. If you really want more damage rechrome to 1G, to use VM instead of CD, for bosses swap Conc for EF. The problem with Inc Dur is that it only takes effect after ~10 sec, doesn't increase the life leeched, and everything will have already died before that anyways. Hey,
Thanks for the awesome build! I just wanted to check what 5 link setup is best. I was lucky enough to get a 5 link mantle for cheap. Would I be right in saying it would be wither - cwt - firestorm - elemental focus - Conc/Increase AoE with VM being the eventual 6th socket? Thank you! |

I just tried a Minotaur for testing the taming + inc dur on a big hp bag target.
Map had 49% more hp, which gives a Mino of ~144M hp I killed it in about 13s, for an average of 11M dps " A small correction: Inc Dur begins to take effect after 2.9s of cast, and is at max at 4.4s Conveniently, Wither is at max at ~4.5s |
