[2.1] Essence Drain / Poison Bino's Witch (Pre 2.1.1B)
" Can't remember it's name, it's the one that grants some STR and converts all INT in the radius to STR, placed where it is it grants me an Extra 100STR, perfect for Iron Will. " Yep definitetely not a party build and I'm going to change that in the OP. I've never played PoE in a party so forgive me if the option didn't even enter my mind... (Self found solo anti-social cave dweler inside) ************ In other news this post confirms that any poison from Essence Drain benefits from spell damage increases, I'm going to update the main thread with other useful information found in this post. Hey man, awesome guide, lvl 77 Talisman atm, having lots of fun :D
quick question: didnt you considered swapping your amu for some 30% chaos damage talisman? |
|
" The first time in a while that I've decided not to play in a challenge league and my build is stunted by the lack of a decent amulet... Go figure. ************** Front page updated: - Added number crunching based on information provided in here. - Updated "A few notes on build and concept." Section - Added Con: Poor in group play / Pro Atziri viable Last edited by SicNNasty#4559 on Dec 22, 2015, 1:24:25 PM

So... with the nerf to the poison gem... what you gonna do with the build now?
|
|
" still seems to do huge amounts of damage, its just been normalized a bit |
|
" I wouldn't say nerfed, it was fixed. I've just tried it out quickly (I've gotta get ready for work), but it seems that it's still decent enough. The numbers posted on the front page are the correct ones save for the regen value which I had stated was bugged. As far as I could tell, the DoT portion of ED was adding to the poison, meaning that instead of the 13k poisons in the math on the front page, it was applying 30k poisons. This theory is consistent with Bino's mecanics and the 30k regen I was seeing. I'll be uploading a fresh video this evening so that people can judge for themselves wether or not the clear speed is still worth playing this build. |

So would you still use the Poison support gem, or replace it?
|
|
Not sure yet. If I was basing the answer purely on damage output, then yes. Slower Projectiles out does the poison support provided you use consuming dark to poison on hit.
Average poison with Slower projectiles of 15988 as opposed to 13824 with the poison Gem. Plus a pretty hefty boost directly to EDs damage as opposed to poison that doesn't directly benefit EDs damage.
Spoiler
Total additive =1.00+1.00+1.34+1.86+0.30+1.25+0.30+0.83+1.10= 8.98
Total Multiplicative =1.43+1.38+1.38+1.28= 5.47 (min)x = 261.1x8.98x5.47 = 12820 (max)x = 390.4x8.98x5.47 = 19157 But man slower projectiles is a pain on ED, seriously that projectile is allready pretty slow, getting it to hit on any mobile monster like those lantern dudes can drastically reduce your clear speed. And despite what you might initially think that 10% AoE on Divinarius is huge when it comes to clear speed via Contagion + ED spreading. Regardless of the fix to poison, Bino's spreading as is, is still adding at the very least and on average 13824 DMG/S as an AoE. This still can stack somewhat leading to nice beefy chain reactions. I'm gonna play around with it this evening when I get back from work, see how it turns out. Worse case scenario this build was amazballs whilst it was broken, does it still have an edge over going pure ED+Contagion without bothering with Bino's poison mecanics? Only trials will tell! |

I'm using slightly changed version of that build (more aoe - carcass jack and few passive tree adjustments, more explosions - abyssal cry)... After that bugfix this build still does everything what it wants to do with 12 tier maps - but single target dps started to be slightly insufficient. Poison is still a great support - it has really good synergy with bino's.
Also, I realised that using arctic armor over grace seems to work better - 13% flat phys reduction and 12% fire reduction is a thing, it saved me a couple of times. Also, I'm using flame golem, but chaos golem performs well too (especially for higher map tiers). Last edited by Jansos#7535 on Dec 23, 2015, 10:33:35 AM

Your opinion about Vulnerability instead of temporal chains, wouldn't be better for extra damage over time effects ?
