This is my new favorite skill. I love the animation for it.

I do. I get HORRIFIC lag while casting it, and if someone else, or an enemy casts it as well. Favorite skill yet gets me killed due to lag. Its not something I can deal with, i literally cannot use the skill and have to avoid anything that does because of the lag.
How does melee splash do on Glacial Hammer? Same 1/3 life shattering on off target enemies?

I'm using it with a 2h mace and increased AOE range and it shatters entire groups so I think so :D

Yup. I think what happens is that every time I freeze/chill a new enemy type in a zone, my computer needs to load something into RAM. I think its frozen textures or something. Quite similar to how skelly totems made lag before they fixed that. After a while in a map you will have frozen every type of enemy so no more lag.


Speaking of glacial, anyone else noticed how the "culling" effect when hitting frozen mob at life < 1/3 works often on rare monsters even when they aren't previously frozen?

I think there's a bug where a hit a on rare will trigger the shattering if that hit would bring the mob at life <1/3 and that same hit rolls freeze.

Ha, funny. I just came to this thread to find the answer to this question as I was observing the same. :)
Or almost the same: I saw it on white mobs, too.

I'm not entirely sure that it can be considered a bug. When a target is hit by culling strike it will die when its life is <10% after the hit. If we now assume that first the freeze roll is calculated and only after that the damage done then I'd say it's working as intended.


Edit: Having observed GH's behaviour more closely I'm now rather confused. First off: I'm using it in conjunction with the Melee Splash support gem and the Resolute Technique keystone (no crits! So if monsters suddenly die and shatter, it had to be GH). And it seems that at least sometimes monsters shatter without being frozen in the first place.
And regarding the AoE portion: I get the feeling that splash doesn't transport the "kill if frozen and <33% life" property of the initial hit. To be more precise: The surrounding monsters do get frozen from time to time (only 23% chance to freeze at the moment) but don't seem to shatter when hit by GH's splash once below 33% HP (easily observable thanks to the new mini-lifebar feature, yay!) while they are frozen...

This skill is guaranteed desync with my 2h multistrike melee splash combo.
It seems that the skill still trys to run towards enemies while the 2 additional hits are occurring. I hold down shift but if I let go of shift at any point my player position is desynced. Monsters are always out of place and im guessing it is because they are not registering as chilled? I have ele prolif so I am guessing the spreading of chill isn't registering the slower movement speed?

I have some issues related to Glacial Hammer.

It's very desync heavy.
I have slow attack speed (about 1.6) and still when I hit a mob it as a delay (close to 1 sec) between the swing and the animation played. It feels like I am missing the hit, but that's impossible since I have RT. Can't even imagine this with higher attack speed.

On the other hand cold based spells or attacks have no problem. Even Infernal Blow works better, not perfect but much lower desync.

I need some advice. Am I missing something?

Could be wrong but I thought everyone had a base crit chance of 5% even if they have RT they still have that 5% chance.
