Glacial Hammer

Any word on whether this skill will be seeing a buff? Hardly anyone seems to use it... just doesn't compare in damage to other skills such as heavy strike.

With the 3 common supports HS does about 20% more damage, but if you add in weapon elemental damage then GH does more. Damage-wise I think it's fine, I'd rather see other aspects of it buffed.

Its freeze is sometimes very useful, but since you can keep things stunned with the big single-target attacks in any case it's not all that. I'd like to see a small AoE freeze or ground ice or something. jackkbro's ice-shard on monster death idea is cool.
Although I haven't played the game that much yet (just at a friend), I am thinking about what kind of character I would like to make in open beta. While doing so I was looking for a melee skill that would convert physical damage to cold damage for a dual-sword wielding ranger. Unfortunately, I came to the discovery that this skill only works with maces and staffs. Flavor-wise this makes a lot of sense, but it is too limiting. Especially because the support passives for these weapons are very rare and localized. Furthermore, the other damage-type converting melee skills, lightning strike and Infernal blow, have almost no weapon restrictions. I would like to see this skill usable with all melee weapon types. The name would require a change maybe but that shouldn't be to problematic; Glacial Strike.

Hatred aura can answer your needs partially till a new cold melee skill is created in future.
Is Glacial Hammer affected by both Cast Speed and Attack speed?
It's not a Spell, it doesn't benefit from Spell Damage, it doesn't benefit from Cast Rate.
is this true please ? i just saw this on a chat, and wanted to know. thanks

"Glacial hammer makes you get reduced loot , everytime a mob is frozen when killed it doesnt drop loots"
That's bullcrap.
think thats due to the crabs, killing a shell counts for exp but not loot then spawns a shooter. if shattered, still gives exp and doesn't spawn a shooter, however don't know if they let drops happen on that point now (still unsure). my memory isn't that good and people assume this is what happens, so...

Shattered Crabs do drop loot, but because you 'skip' half the life pool, the drops are very slightly reduced.
