Explosive Arrow Marauder (Updated for Release)

Yeah Im going for the Thick Skin nodes now, 36% life will be a crazy survivability boost. Yes Im SC actually, I often play when Im tired and don't want to concentrate too much. Are u on HC?
Yep. I like how HC forces me to learn the game and I also like its economy. Nothing wrong with softcore, though!

As I see you are just starting mapping, I can give you a few tips.
Something many people don't know is that quantity on maps is a multiplier on your quantity. Not an increase. So you can get 250% quantity with a +100% quantity map. This is why alching maps can be very much worth it.

Map management resource: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/339977
My map strategy:
-Alch outdoor maps. Only chaos them if they are level 68+ and under 40% quantity with no pack size/magic monsters/larger area etc.
-Maze maps that are really good with maze by using alterations. Mainly these maps are grotto, spider lair and vaal pyramid. These maps can take up 2 screens so they tend to be very cost efficient.

Thanks mate, appreciated. I know about the very strong mods like Pack Size, Magic/Rare monsters and maze or bigger, but didnt know that the multiplier on the map multiplies your IIQ. So that means if I got 50 IIQ on my gear, and play a map with 100% IIQ, Ill have 150% just from those multipliers, and if I hit a 50% pack size then it multiplies again, right? Pretty sick stuff.

I forgot to tell you that I already have a lvl 80 LA-Bowplar who is quiete nice as well, running 9 Auras + Arctic Armor and Molten Shell. Love him, but the problem is that he is really bad in terms of mf, I just loot crap with him, even in lvl 71 maps. This is why I was/am so curious about the EA build, because now I have 44% IIQ and 56% IIR, plus another 33/52 with culling strike for bosses and rares. Will add an Andvarius when I hit lvl 77 or so.

I hope with this build I can finally achieve some kind of wealth, because as you have seen in the video, I tried for days to get the best deals on my gear I can possibly get. Really happy with what I paid so far! But I dont wanna live poor through all of my Exile life :)
With 50% IIQ you would have (100% base IIQ + 50 IIQ)*(200% from the map bonus).

Hey everyone,

Thank you to everyone who has participated in this amazing thread, it allowed me to build a currently level 70 amazing EA marauder in hardcore and I am having lots of fun. I wouldn't mind a bit of feedback on where I am going currently. I have focused heavily on life and resists, currently I am at 4.6K health, 80/80/80/-60 res, and 4k armor with grace running. My next two passives will net me 16% more health but after that I am not sure if I should go for the evasion/armor buffs in the duelist tree or the armor buffs in the mara tree. I have read elsewhere that 5K armor should be my entry level to maps but would love to hear from the EA experts.

My current build:

I plan on getting rid of unwavering stance soon so I can run blind with my split arrow/chain/loh which I feel will really add to my tanking ability.

Also I'd like to share with everyone here my pride and joy,

That I won randomly in a race I did (yay for alt art) and it rolled perfect dex and proj speed. I was so excited I looked up this build then spent about 50 jewlellers and a little less than 200 fusings to make it the way it is. The reason blind is in it is because I haven't been able to chrom it the way I want (GRRBBB) and I just picked it up so I'm trying to level it.
I just noticed my build that I posted earlier didn't take blood magic. Woops! It is supposed to have that. Just dinged level 80, almost up to my previous EAer's 84.

@VerbalSiegeEngine: You are one incredibly lucky man. I have spent ~2k fusings on quill rains and still nothing.

I'd say armor is pretty irrelevant for maps. Just use a perpetual granite of iron skin and predict when you are going to take big damage. I also heavily use my blinding split arrow totem to tank for me. I often just spam my totem infront of me so that I don't die to flicker or rhoa charges. Focus on getting 5.5k hp, using granites at the right time, and using enduring cry right before every pack. You DO NOT want to rip with that glorious six link.

I just respecced Unweavering Stance and have no problems at all yet, so I’d say it’s not worth investing 5-6 nodes (Im also lvl 70, but SC. tho I never died with this build so far, just once to a disc, my internet sucks sometimes) But be aware of the Vulnerability Curse, because ure very likely to be stunned if enemies close up to you.

I’d go for as much tankyness/life as well, u don’t want to loose this great character. Great Quill! Play carefully, better alt or chaos maps a few times more than u would normally do, to get non-dangerous rolls on it.

After respeccing US u could invest 3 points into the “Body & Soul” nodes up at the Templar tree, it gives u a lot of armor/es and 10% prism, for 3 nodes thats pretty okay I think (u’ll then respecc Weapon Ele Dmg ofc)

Take care!

Look what I just found :D haha, wanted to buy one. nvm now, thx rng <3 need a blessed tho

It would prob be worth it to divine it at least once since it has almost bottom rolls.

Deltrus thank you for the advice! I am being as careful as possible... I would cry if I died and lost the 6L. I panicked last night when I was in the crematorium and got a BSOD but luck was on my side.

I just specced out of unwavering stance and I'm using:
Cold Arrow + LMP + Chain + LoH
Ranged Attack Totem + Blind + Split Arrow (when I can 4L my Carcass Jack I will add chain)

Feeling very good about it. Also finally got the colors to roll on my Quill Rain but I really want to get a quality increased burning damage.

Grats to DJSRP on the andvarius find! I love serendipity!
