Remove xp penalty's from death
" It's highly likely that most other people who have read thru all of this (or at least the first 3 or 4 pages, to get an idea of the point i was trying to make) either: Not invested into this game much, if at all (mainly talking about real $ put into it). So if PoE truly goes down the crapper, they will not have lost much. Tired of posting in the hopes that the dev's will listen and start making smarter, long-term plan based decisions, and getting nothing back. I havnt played much in the past cple days, and quite honestly i'm feeling my motivation to resume playing slipping away. I probably wont be back until act4. Going to see if chris and his team actually realize the danger the game and their product is in afterwards. If they come clean w/ us and announce their plans to turn things around (engine redesign, rethinking xp penalty's if they cant/wont do that) or even announce PoE2, taking the lessons i'd HOPE they learned from this run to improve the product. Certainly will think twice and even thrice about giving GGG another penny until i see some improvement to the game. And if that improvement never comes, oh well. The last time I played in sc it was the old xp loss (15%?). It was fine then, so I imagine it's even better now.
I feel like dying = bad, there should be a penalty. We tested it extensively

Which was the point of this thread, before it got semi-derailed. But because there is no way to get rid of desync, OR a way for the game to recognize between a deserved death and an undeserved (desync) death, in the interests of fairness to the players, xp penalty should be removed or reworked. " As somehow this is about my playstyle now rather than the issue at hand. The reason I don't play HC is because I'm always doing odd builds. Many which I sloppily put together until I can use all the items needed for the build to work. Then once all these things are assembled I measure how good the build is in how fast I'm leveling (basically how much the death penalty is effecting my progress). If I'm leveling slowly either through deaths or shit clear speed I know what I intended isn't what's happening. It's hard and boring to do this type of stuff on HC because you can't have mistakes to correct along the way. I'm stuck in a safe, reliable leveling build until I can switch over and if something wasn't accounted for suddenly I have to start over, which leveling is my least favorite part of the game. Also because it's mostly complaints people like me feel the need to be the counter. Otherwise it comes across as if everyone agrees in a bad change suddenly everything goes to shit because of a vocal minority when the majority was enjoying themselves not thinking to come here to prevent shit going to hell. Just as a thought experiment... What if the people that most frequently post--such as you, me, Legatus, Goetzjam, and a few others decided to sit back a couple days and see what everyone else is saying? How different would some of these threads look? I find it easy to believe that the reason you find so many arguments that you want to counter is because you are going around with the purpose of trying to counter them. As I have virtually no idea who you are and I have only recently started being active again on the this board I don't think you can really group me in with you guys. I can say the...probably year? I was gone, I did stop in and it was exactly like I described in my other reply. A bunch of people with young accounts, few characters, giving radical changes then never to be seen again outside their thread. But to answer your assumptions. A) My view point isn't more valid, I just challenge everyone's because if something should be changed there should be a good reason behind it. Much of the feedback here is driven by personal agenda rather than it being best for the game and community. Like this thread. It's another person refusing to accept that desync is a problem they need to adjust to so they want special changes so they can avoid doing what the rest of us have. B) I don't claim to be the majority, but at the same time if the status quo is really pissing off the majority, you'll for sure know. Desync is a good example of this. People hate it, and talk about it so much it gets wrapped up in threads it probably shouldn't have been in at all. Whenever desync comes up you'll see a bunch of people come out of the woodworks, and a well put together post on it will have hundreds of people involved. That's a majority concern. Half of this thread is people disagreeing and the only reason it keeps going is because I'm a long winded asshole who doesn't shut up. Lastly, like I said in that reply you seemed to ignore, I spend most of my time here playing devil's advocate just to test the OP's argument. Penalty was too annyoing in beta. Now its fine. A death now and then should hurt a little.
