Mechanics thread
So I want to calculate the Damage of a Monster (DoM)
DoM = Damage Taken / (1-(Armour/(Armour+(12*DoM)))) So how do I calculate the Damage if I need the same value to calculate it? Do I miss something here? (Btw. I know I could use the Reduction value out of the Character sheet, but as we all know that is not a value calculated with the actual damage of the monster you fight against) “Demons run when a good man goes to war" Last edited by Sneakypaw#3052 on Mar 18, 2013, 12:17:15 AM

What you need to do is solve the reduction formula for Unmitigated damage. All you see in the game is Mitigated damage. Not too terribly useful.
R = A/(A+12*Unmitigated) + 0.05*N <--------- Where N is number of endurance charges. Mitigated = = (1-R) * Unmitigated solution is here. My math fix for the day. Yes, that solution is for real. Armour isn't a simple mechanic. Let a man walk alone -

Does Stone of Lazhwar block Blood Rage?

" Why would it do that? Intelligence Block chance applied to spells Mana Cast Speed I don't see how you could think that. Edit: Do you mean an other skill maybe? “Demons run when a good man goes to war" Last edited by Sneakypaw#3052 on Mar 18, 2013, 8:57:15 AM

Stone of Lazhwar gives you a chance to block spells.. Blood rage is a spell..

blood rage is a buff... why would you block yourself? same for righteous fire. thats not possible. also if you tried to walk into ground burning or poison arrow or something in proliferated burning or righteous fire (the other side of it), you cannot block any of those DoT's as they're "After the fact". you can block viper strike, fire damage skills (for the burning), and puncture.

When you Block Viper Strike, it still Hits and applies a Charge. :) It just stops the melee damage. Puncture will deal zero damage and presumably not apply a DoT (a zero DPS DoT would be silly).
Anyways, you can block Hits. You cannot block Damage over Time, since it doesn't Hit. " Increased. Last edited by Vipermagi#0984 on Mar 18, 2013, 12:36:14 PM

"Blocked Puncture does in fact apply a 0 damage DoT. |
