Converted evasion benefits from both increases to armour and evasion, but it does not double-dip, so the Leather and Steel nodes don't add together.

Your statement contradicts itself. How can it get benefits from both armour and evasion talents, but not double dip at the same time??? Those are basically the same thing...

The leather and steel nodes are not a boost to armour and a boost to evasion but a boost to armour/evasion to make it simple, it is another stat that is independant of %increased armour and %increased evasion.

It's like %increased elemental damage that don't count two times when you use cold to fire gem.
hope this doesn't confused but i want to add a further explain. if player had 100 eva and +50% eva when 100 armor and +50% armor, not via the "leather and steel" passives, then this happens via converting:
100eva base *(1+ 0.5 +0.5) =200 armor add
100arm base *(1+ 0.5) =150 + 200 =350 total armor

trying to explain that it isn't a multiply "double dip" but additive.

Could you show me the same calculation, but if you have 50% eva and 50% armour from leather and steel?

100eva base*(1+0.5)=150
100arm base*(1+0.5)=150
Total : 300 armour

Double-dipping means getting the same benefit twice off one variable. The Leather and Steel nodes don't affect converted evasion twice (as in, once before conversion and once after).
I think the examples made things clearer for me. It looks like Leather and Steel is made for duelists that rely on armour and evasion at the same time, rather than people like me, that will be using Iron Reflexes.

Thank you for the information! It helped me out a great deal!
its still a heafty boost, the leather and steel groups.
