Success in PvP is based only on wealth.

That's the whole point... it gives farming and trading more meaning. No one should be expecting arpg pvp to be some pure skill competition.

At the ends of leagues this board and reddit are covered with whine posts about the leagues being dead. If more players stick around for pvp it will give more players for the people that only care about pve to interact with. Pvp's existence benefits pve even if you don't care about pvp at all.

Only problem with that is that almost 99% of gear you find when leveling is inapplicable to LLD, the 95% majority of pvpers. Even if you spend 3 months playing without caring for PvP, you can't go LLD unless you specifically spend currency to buy/craft said gear.

This way PvE wealth will have nothing to do with PvP ability just like in Guild Wars 1. Now let me say you should also have the option of using legit PvE gear in PvP WITHOUT making it PvP only, but then you'd have to use your PvE wealth and not be able to use the cheaper PvP crafting system.

If they make it easy to get the "best gear", then, PVP will be more competitive. By that, I mean you can craft tier 1 rolls, hybrid and otherwise for PVP only with say 1 wisdom scroll. PVP only 6-link Shavronne's Wrappings and other Uniques can be bought for say 1 wisdom scroll.
I love the Guild Wars 1 4v4 PVP system. Mainly it was easy to get into and your gear is not inferior to your opponent's. As everyone already has the best possible gear.

In that case, LLD becomes totally pointless. There's only so many routes a build can take. On level 100 characters however, it would become really interesting.

High level dueling, from what I've seen, looks really unbalanced

How is that a problem? It is just how poe works, 99% of what you find isn't worth using or trading, knowing what is good is part of the game. Yes the very best LLD gear will have to be crafted or bought, just like the highest level pve gear. There will eventually be eternal crafted mirrored LLD items. All of which will be made and traded for within the larger framework of the league economy that pve also shares. You can only get stuff through pve or trading. The more there is to trade for the more valuable pve activity becomes.
When I kill a man he stays dead.
you think you discovered America or what ? this is 1st game that pvp is bassed on gear rly ?

and how the fuck you made 8 mods on weapon ?

I appreciate what a skilled player like yourself is trying to say. But I'm not as pessimistic about PvP, as I was a huge fan of Guild Wars 1 PvP and it was sensational partially because of the numerous balance changes (week to week).

PoE is a different game, I know that, but I feel with some time the PvP can become something just as great as Guild Wars 1 was.

The first thing they can do is institute PvP Only Crafting. Let's say you find a nice base in PvE well you can give it to Leo and he will change it to PvP only, where you can craft it with a special cheap and easy to find PvP orb but only be able to use an item crafted this way in PvP.

I'm not a skilled player. Only doing PvP recently (start of events) and had absolutely no idea on PvP prior to this.

I just have what people would call insane gear.

I didn't say you were the best player ever. What I meant was that relative to everyone else, who mostly also don't have a clue about PvP, you at least knew what gear to piece together and what skills to pair with that gear. Some people just cued up with random wands and freeze pulse, becaues they didn't put any thought or planning into what they were doing. Because they didn't know WHAT to do.

Oh, well I guess that just comes from experience playing the game really. I was referring to skill in match ups in actual PvP fights. I'm just flat out not skilled :)

they should spend time making a balanced pvp league rather than try to get arena pvp working (which will never happen)
