0.9.3 Updated Progress Report (final update Nov 13)

alpha is the new beta, apparently.
over 1500 nodes ?! That is beyond mesmerising, hopefully GGG will come over the layout and balancing, but still shokked about the amount, brilliant !

Each passing day i become even more thirsty to PoE, just an advanced addiction like feeling.

i think maelstrom needs some story element added to it. the final part of act 2 i imagine isnt in place yet so you probably have that in 9.3 ( maybe). but it would be cool to make maelstrom be some kind of alternate dimension that maybe you fight some boss at the end that triggers a cataclysmic event within the maelstrom causes you to be spit out back into the dimension act 2 takes place in, into act 3 and the story goes on from there.

theres many different things you could do that are similar to what i mentioned above, but i think have varied alternate dimensions and "demons" and "the warp" kind of things gives the story a deeper element and gives it a increases sense of despair and intrigue into what exactly is going on in the story. cuzz atm the story is pretty basic and bland, i think GGG needs to spice it up a bit! make something unexpected to give that WOW! factor that so many games nowadays lack.

IS Maelstrom still going to be the grinding place for levels? If so did you guys bring the monster levels up some? Just wondering. No need for answer. Thanks~


Keep in mind there's a third act that will probably exist prior to the maelstrom... so the levels of maelstrom will be reactionary to the available content over time more than likely.

Aye yeah, I just didn't know if in 9.3 something like act3 was even a thought or would be left for a later release date. Thanks for the answer though.

You do realize that there has always been an alpha team that gets updates to test before beta, right? Beta isn't being excluded; GGG is following rather standard testing practices by letting alpha find major issues and crashes before the game version goes to beta, which means thousands of downloads. Would be a shame to have to pay for all that bandwidth two or three times for every coding error that required an immediate update.

This is just awesome! Of course, we dun want GGG to rush; they should take all the time they need to get it right. Of course, the longer they take, the more time I have to sort out getting my computer to be able to handle the graphics, so I can take advantage of the shiny, new Beta membership the Timer just dropped in my lap. =^[.]^=
