I so want to grab a copy, but I'm waiting for the first few patches to go through first... I've read some reviews that report a lot of broken stuff.

Try playing any of the Elder Scrolls game without patching it in any way.

I tried, it didn't work. My copy of Oblivion works... after I installed the fan-made everything-patch.

I really want to play Oblivion right now (and I can) but I'm not sure what to do. The world is just so big that I can't fathom what I could do. As for Skyrim... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Definitely waiting on patches before I even consider buying it, because I've been seriously unimpressed with Bethesda products recently. Sure they're big, but... fairly unpolished in many places. Their UI is a major contributing factor. I don't want to push Tab to go to the menu and then choose what part of the menu to use, just let me push B for inventory and J for journal and whatever else.

No point playing Skyrim on a PC with this User-Interface.
The responsible dev/coder should be hung or burned.
The Company made money with PC-Games for years - and all we now get for supporting them is this piece of sh...

And all those magazines with 85 or 90% scores don´t have the guts to rate the Game 15% lower because of this disastrous UI on the PC.
If they don´t want to do the work to do a PC-port - they should just stop. But if you spent the time and money doing a PC-version you should at least try to make it look and feel like it was made for the pc.

Unfortunately this seems to be a norm today. Witcher 2 did this same shit but they made it better with patches afterwards. Maybe Bethesda does the same.

I have just played a small amount of Skyrim on a console. I do not own Skyrim, but I played it a bit.

I think the user interface is not amazing, and they removed some great features like vendors having limited yet infinite gold (if you played Oblivion you'll know what I mean). Pickpocket and Sneak are now two separate things which is stupid.

Overall I am going to not buy it because meh. Now we have ~34 hours to 0.9.3.

Updates 19-23 where a bunch of small bugfix and balance updates that went up yesterday. They were basically fixing things as fast as the alpha testers could give feedback.

(Actually, the game mentioned abobe's just crying for loads of fan mods, as it was with Oblivion, so, you don't loose that much, anyway. In my heart, POE now has a preference above the sequel of the most loved game I've ever played in my life!)

Man. 0.9.3 is so close, can barely keep calm. I won't have Skyrim until Wednesday, so I'm doubly excited! :D:D
