Radeon 6XXX Card Making Game/Pc Freeze
I seem to have found a workaround to the problem.
Try turning all in-game graphics to their minimum, and resolution to 800x600 (haven't tried playing on higher resolutions yet). Then, go to your Catalyst Control Center. Under 3D, select standard settings. Move the slider all the way left, towards Performance. Check the box marked "Use custom settings". After doing all that, I have not encountered any crashes/black screens so far. |

I am encountering the same problems :(
What i have found out so far: * the -gc 2 parameter seems to help delay the crashes * regular restarting of the game also helps avoiding them (~every 20 minutes or so) * Act I "the ledge", "rocky climb" and "prisoners gate" are unplayable (crash almost instantly). everything else seems to work fine though as long as i follow the steps above * messing with the graphics settings and/or resolution seems to have no measurable effect system specs: gpu: AMD Radeon HD 6800 cpu: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T ram: 8GB DDR3 os: Win7 64Bit any additional tips or explanations are most welcome! I am also having this issue. I got a pop up after forcing my computer into sleep mode, letting it sit for a min and waking it up.
It reads: Failed creating the Direct3D device. I am running the game fine otherwise, everything is max and 70-90 fps, just every few hours in the past few days it goes to black screen. Specs: Intel i5 3470 Nvidia Geforce GTX 660Ti 16GB ram 64 bit Windows 7 etc. |
