Evening! Been following this build and I find it to be quite enjoyable. I chose to run Ice Shot as I got a better "feeling" for the skill than Tornado Shot, and prefer it's single target potential against some bosses. I switched out the Chain support for Pierce support on a 6link and spent 2 skillpoints on adding a Jewel slot to my tree, equipping the Omen on the Winds unique Jewel. That way I prevented the -50% damage from Chain and now I pierce 7 targets and have increased AoE on IS' on-hit cone.
I'd like to hear your take on this change, and how the 2 skillpoints spent on the jewel slot can or not prejudice me in the later levels where we're usually hungry for skillpoints. I'd also like your input on keeping PPAD instead of Chain on a 5L setup as I feel GMP already gives Ice Shot amazing clear due to IS' on-hit cone AoE (no Pierce and Jewel anymore) because I probably won't be able to afford a 6L Bow or Body Armour when I swap out Tabula Rasa and Chain takes away too much damage for it's utility in my head. Jewel Slot placement on SkillTree (I chose the closest I could get, took me 2 points) https://imgur.com/a/WfzXs Current equips info with what I already plan on upgrading. (No idea how to link) .Goldrim Cap - needs upgrade but am keeping for the all ele. res. stat. .Tabula Rasa - current IS 6L - needs upgrade after act5 kitava .Shadows and Dust Mitts - definitive CWDT IC ID setup + Ice Golem so it's always up .Boots - Rare with Life, Fire res, Cold res, move speed, %evasion rating. .Death's Harp Bow - .The Signal Fire Quiver - definitive/best damage conversion quiver as the guide says .Le Heup of All Ring - needs upgrade, am keeping because +30%damage roll and +27% all res. roll .Ring 2 - Rare Diamond Ring base - Life, Fire Res, Light Res, +Dex .Amulet - Rare Turquoise Amulet base .Wurm's Molt Belt - needs upgrade, keeping until I can equip a rare Leather Belt with +hp, +armour and +each res. over 30% Last edited by ptbsde155 on Nov 3, 2017, 10:34:29 PM

Hello all
I am hitting max damage at 21k dps with tornado shot with 6frenzy charges and atziri flask up. i believe i should be somewhat at 21k dps with zero frenzy charge actually (i am lvl 73) Am using Lioneye glare and even for t3 map i have to 5-6 shot trash mob to advance sometimes. what should i change in my stuff for immediate damage increase of like my missing 10k dps? maybe? Thanks
" Your tree looks fine (besides needing one int node). You'll probably lack lifeleech (soul raker + lions jewel would give both - dunno why OP says it is bad - I got more damage from it that with Heavy draw) 6l - would of course help. 1. Your gems have all 0 quality. Some are very cheap to get with quality. Think you can buy TS with 19 quality for 2 chaos or so (corrupted). Depends - GMP will cost 1c with 10%q or so. Get better gems. Level them in offhand. I'd prefer at least quality 14+ - so it you can get them somehow to 20 with GMPs. 1 GMP = 1 C - so it is very easy to see if the offer is good or not. Use vendor recipe to get GMPs (if you have time you can even buy shitty gems with 14+ quality for 1 alchemy or sometimes even jewels and then vendor them in bulk - which is cheaper than to buy GMPs - but not worth the time needed as many won't respond. 2. No crit chance/multiplier on rings and amulett (or other good DPS stats). Those + lightning damage rolls probably don't do much at all, not sure here. Gloves would be nice with Attack speed (you need zero accuracy with Lion Bow - unless you want to be able to change it later). Rustic sash with +phys damage is good, but there could also be incr. ele damage on it. It is not that expensive if you don't go super high. 3. Some gems seem strange. 2x Curse on hit (the 4l chain with Icebite is good), no CTWD chain. Last edited by Kindergar1en on Nov 4, 2017, 12:54:04 PM

One thing I found out that may help others who play this build. I took the 3 cold nodes (Winter Spririt) while leveling (not 1:1 copying the guide - and my first playtrough so I took what looked good while looking at the general directions).
Those nodes add 40% cold conversion. Without those nodes Signal Fire would be a big DPS increase in PoB (+23% DPS). With them the increase is pretty small - as you have already a lot of conversion. Those 3 nodes add +18% DPS in PoB (without SF quiver), which is huge for just 3 Skillpoints. So it is ok to not use Signal Fire and IMO a pretty good alternative initially. That means you can get a rare quiver cheap which adds +life +resist and also crit and so on. My buffed DPS in PoB is 55,6k with cold nodes. Without and signal fire it would be 57,8k DPS (average Signal fire). However I'd lose more damage with Signal Fire, because I would need to get more res and life on other slots. My current rare quiver was cheap ~10-20c or so. inc ele damage, 89 life, crit multi and 48% light res, low phys damage. Has unneeded dex roll. Costing 3 skillpoints - but 48% light res and 90 life is probably worth it. And there should be better rare quivers out there (as most ranger builds go for Signal Fire or Drillneck or other unique quiver). SF is probably still the top choice for late endgame (especially with Kaoms which adds more fire damage)- but this small change gives your a lot of more options with items, especially if you don't have the currency for Kaoms or want to run QotF for more Speed. |

Ty for the reply, i will check those prices of quality gems, but knowing me i might end up leveling those myself. i will probably take off my atziri step boots so i can have better accessories while caping my resists. or should i not? high eva and spell evade tho ..
I've been thinking on making use of my double legacy Reach of the Council. It's 333 DPS +4 arrows. (never really played standard until now.)
Since I don't have a high end rare harbinger, wouldn't this bow be better than other unique options? I do have a 357 DPS 5l harb, but I imagine that is worse, right? Also, using the Reach, what skills and accompanying uniques would you recommend? TS + Barrage, or is LA better for reach? Is +barrage or +TS better on helms? I haven't played a bow char in a long time, so I'm really rusty when it comes to bows. Thanks in advance! Last edited by SneezeGuard on Nov 6, 2017, 12:31:57 PM

Okay so ... here's my question: Why does everyone take those two minor nodes down near Thick Skin (which give 4% life each) when, for the same number of points spent, you could instead take the two minor nodes up near Revenge of the Hunted and get 4% life (each) AND 8% Evasion?
