Nerf Voidbearer
use arctic armor if you have mana regen
use cwdt-enfeeble 77% fire resist if you dont you can still kite them if melee: whirlwind blade on them kill one->whrilwind blade out till pot fills you up (replace whirlwind with whatever movement ability you use. if you dont use one... use one) use bear traps use ST as a weapon switch use spell block use fire resist flasks etc there are countless ways to counter them edit: asking for them to be nerfed cause they do a lot of damage in melee is like asking for that annoying bubblers in sceptre to have their bubble removed cause they are immune to ranged. Rare voidbearer with extra projectiles and extra dmg on 70 map with 4 add projectiles :D went from 4,3k hp to 0 in less than sec. They are the only type of monsters that scares me with my melee duelist(cant use AA because of 86% mana reserved;/).

" In my opinion this solution is far superior to a nerf in damage. I actually enjoyed being challenged by the voidbearers (Burning my duelists backside off tonnes of times), yet I did think it was slightly overpowered. Note, though, that I have only played through the docks on normal, so I can't say too much about them. Well, this experience as well as some others (I'm looking at you, Vaal oversoul and Dominus first form) was what convinced me to get Spectral Throw for my blood magic-Iron Reflexes-Cylone+Life gain on hit duelist. |

I like them, they allways make me turn around and run away.. then slowly get back and see their affixes..
And like said before there are many ways to deal with them.. I like to use ST because it is a good skill for other monsters too. And they can only use their flame when standing still. One way to deal with them is to go behind something and then wait them to come close to you, most of the times they use their weak melee attack.. e: And when you encounter one with Fractured on Nemesis, is it worth the risk? d:-D* Last edited by PyleWarlord#7248 on Dec 5, 2013, 7:39:04 AM

Okay, this one's a tough fight. First off, voidbearers do fire damage. However, even at max resists, they can still do heavy damage. When fighting individual Voidbearers, you need to either kill them from afar, or see if you can bait them into using their fire breath, then run like hell. When they're done, move in, and throw everything you have into them. They die quick with my 6k dps, and I don't (usually) have to worry about them shooting fire again. You can also distract individuals with fire totems.
In groups, I recommend a more tactical approach. I just pop a ruby flask, use fire totems to distract the group, throw Warlord's Mark on them, then use Cyclone Strike for a single pass to damage them as much as I can (while my fingers are hovering above my flask buttons), then rinse and repeat, stopping to heal at a safe location with a rejuvenation totem if needed. Ground Slam connected to Multistrike and Faster Attacks also works. |
