This is actually exactly WHY I don't think it should be made a permanent fixture. It takes away some of the player skill from the game and makes survivability so much easier that it puts the game at risk of becoming too easy and not appropriately punishing players for adjusting to their gear or correcting their build.

It in fact would PROMOTE bad build structure and playstyle.

I would only want the feature in the parent league if it is nerfed to an extent. It should be a small bonus in the parent league, not a feature like it will be in the upcoming Rampage league.


I know GGG has done a good job balancing out the features from the previous leagues onto the parent leagues. By balancing as in, it is part of the game, but not something that will stand out much in the grand scheme.




Edit: Rampage mod should be the perfect race type for the next feature in the upcoming race season.
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

I made a post a while back, I dunno if you guys at GGG ever read it, about player stress and adding "fun" weekend/1week/2week race leagues towards the end of the main ladders to spice things up. The idea is that these things would contain mechanics that majorly change the game play in ways that we wouldnt want in the main version of the game but would be super exciting to play as an occasional thing, rather than a 1 week repetition of the same old thing we love but need a break from now and then.

This definitely sounds like one of those things, super fun, exciting, doing something really different built on top of the game we love but essentially more of a shorter lived gimmick (and I say that for want of a better term as it can be taken as a negative which I dont intend).


Maybe, as some people have said already, this is more the vision for Rampage. A league, we have our fun, then long term its a map mod, race mod, short fun league mod that can be pulled out of the hat here and there to give us a break from the very serious game we play full time.

We dunno the full info yet, all the details, no idea how it will play out so I guess we will wait and see and Im looking forward to playing it. Could well be that in practice its a lot more balanced and somewhat subtle than it sounds from this short description.

Yes like the current 1 month leagues. I had awesome fun with onslaught and invasion. It lets everyone experience the league mods they didn't get to play before I like it.

I hate kill streaks and being forced to rush so Rampage doesn't sound too good to me. Also, the game is already sooo easy, this only makes it easier. I thought the challenge league additions were meant to have some risk? What happened to that?

I will say that this is the first announcement which makes me worried. This Rampage league sounds incredibly bad. Kill streaks will make for a more stressful gameplay and not for fun, unlike Ambush. I mean, I wouldn't mind them if there was anything else that adds some fun.

Sure, there'll be masters and all the new stuff, still this is sounding incredibly weak and this will be live for 4 months. Hopefully the hardcore counterpart will be more exciting.
at this point im convinced everyone in the poe community is nostradamus.

it looks like Catarina's specialty will be removing mods. pretty interesting

The new leagues will be 3 months not 4.
