Vaal Skill Gem Retrospective

My favorite has been vaal storm call. I'm surprised you guys let such a powerful skill need only 8 souls. Anyway, that was a really cool read. ^^
Some offensive Vaal skills are, to me, very unattractive either because they use too many souls for the damage they do, cannot do nearly enough damage at all, or cannot hold enough charges to change the outcome of any fight.

I would like to see more skills on par with Vaal Spectral Throw, new or rebalanced, that become more of a supporting attack than an ultimate move.

I've seen Vaal Storm Call adored by others but simply cannot see what is attractive about it, the syncing function listed seems to hardly influence normal storm call and even though it uses very few souls it can only hold one use.

Vaal Lightning Warp has an interesting utility but seems to fall on its face because of the single use. It is exactly as useful to warp yourself out of danger with the standard gem as it is to warp danger away from you with the Vaal gem.

Vaal Ground Slam at 32 souls in merciless is just too long to charge if it isn't going to do cataclysmic damage. It seems nearly ironic that this is one of the gems with more than one use available.

Vaal Power Siphon may or may not be in a good place but the wands that can do enough damage to make it matter may as well require you to sacrifice your first born son to actually acquire.

While leveling if you use it on a pack of monsters, Vaal Storm call will easly wipe out the pack and get all the souls back so you can use it again.

I would like this, drawback you can't quality.
Make Vaal Spectralthrow to use like only 10 souls at max level . noone uses it currently, but it could be like a "main skill" for those who want to look like a hammerdin

I think this is a terrible idea. It'd be way too easy to not notice the skill had charged up and use the Vaal version by mistake.

I agree.

This would partly solve the problem I have with not having enough sockets for Vaal Skills which is the sole reason I never use them. But even if this change is made, I won't be able to use Vaal Skills anyway unless they already are my main skills (and thus not taking up any additional sockets).

Spoiler
We need pants for more sockets!

Vaal skills functioning as normal skills replaces normal skills. This is very clearly bad for the game. Then you have people complaining that their build doesn't have an associated Vaal skill and is non viable. Every skill used would be a Vaal skill. And yes, you can still quality Vaal gems by corrupting an existing quality gem into a Vaal one.

So no, this is never happening. The solution to make more situational skills viable is to give players access to more sockets.
