I'm capping shields to three sockets right now in response to this message.

It will be easier for people using two items to accumulate the sockets earlier. Having additional sockets matters less in 0.9.3 because less support gems are required to have pretty powerful skills. We can balance around this in other ways.

That 2h dual wielder gets a whole lot of sockets. Those keystone passives are pretty meaningful.


Capping 1h weapons (if it could be done on daggers wands and some thrust swords that occupies 1x3 squares now) and shields on 4 sockets could be better starting point to balance that further imo.
2 x 4 sock vs 1 x 6 sock seems pretty equal in terms of pros and cons and would make choice whether to use 1h + shield/dual wield or 2h more 'meaningful' imho.

*Maybe make them occupy 2x2 squares in inv like claws?

PS: What about that keystone 'using 2h weapons in dual wield mode' or similar one?
2 x 6 max socks for dual wielder vs 2 x 3 max socks for 1h + shield char.

Question:
When 0.9.3 starts, we will lose to legacy every one of ous characters and everyone of our items in the shared stash too.

It will be exactly like starting again without anything.

Am I right here?

Actually, I am suddenly curious about the legacy mechanism.

So, what happens if a later legacy merger results in stash overflow?
The whole diary is fantastic but,
