Luciana:
After looking at your gear and your tree I can see where your problems are and why you're having so much difficulty surviving. Let's start off with the gear and gems first: 1. You don't have a manual cast Immortal Call or a CWDT (Cast When Damage Taken) setup. This is definitely a huge issue as this build in general doesn't have access to a lot of armor for helping out against physical damage, BUT the advantage is, is that we can generate Endurance Charges very easily. I would suggest something like this: You really only need IC linked with Increased Duration and since you'll have it in 'The Vertex' mask, it'll cost a lot less to cast. Linking it with an Enhance means you can take advantage of a big increase to the quality bonus IC has, and with just 3 ECs you'll get around 6-7 seconds of IC up time on a manual cast. You can use it with CoDT, but be aware that you'll have to keep IC and CWDT lower leveled for them to trigger well enough. Better off just using a manual setup. This will definitely allow you to survive much better against physical damage and Corrupting Blood, too. 2. You have no Blood Rage gem. Since you're running the Low Life variant of this build you're missing out on a HUGE attack speed boost provided by Blood Rage, which will make your attacks much faster. Remember, this build is about attacking fast and using your main attack to proc Mjolner's casts of the spells in it. The degen from BR is negligible in this build and while it will stop your ES from regenerating, you're relying on Ghost Reaver to leech it back anyway. Speaking of ES regen... 3. Replace your rare ring with a Shav's Revelation ring if you can and wear it in the slot where it says that it will give you no mana regen. You're not running on mana to begin with, so that downside isn't a big issue, but the constant ES regen the ring provides along with its bonus ES and huge Intelligence boost will give you some extra ES on top of that. 4. Replace your 'Iron Will' gem with a Life Leech gem in your Mjolner gem setup. You'll lose some damage, but survivability is much preferred as if you're dying too much you won't level up and can't get extra passive points to help you with surviving and thus lowering your need for the LL gem. 5. Use the Scouring Orb + Gem recipe to know your Lightning Strike gem back down to level 5 and leave it there. You don't need to level LS beyond that as you're not getting benefit from its damage increases much at all, and all you're doing is unnecessarily increasing the cost of your main skill. 6. For auras, run something like this list: -Haste -Purity of Lightning -Purity of Ice -Purity of Fire -Discipline -Herald of Thunder -Herald of Ice You'll obviously have to do some socket recoloring, but in general those are the ones most people use right now. You can drop Vitality and get some regen from your passive tree. And speaking of that, let's transition into that. I can definitely see where you're having problems here with defense involving your passive tree, so let me help you out here. I'll take into account what points you have for now and be aware that you might have to change some things around depending on your need for Strength/Dex requirements. Here we go: Now, you may need to continue running the Vitality aura for a bit until you get enough levels to work down the inner Templar tree portion where you can pick up all the nodes leading to 'Retribution', 'Precision', and 'Sanctity' notables, but they are all worth it as well as the nodes in between. Combine Sanctity's life regen along with Shaper's regen and you should have enough to run your main attack and drop Vitaity completely, at which point you can use other auras. I took the 'Celestial' notables here for increased damage along with 'Elementalist' to give you a 10% total chance to shock, burn, and freeze enemies. You'll see I also pathed through the starting Witch spell damage nodes for obvious extra punch and to get into the Templar area while trying to meet stat requirements that you'll likely need at this point. As you level up and after getting those Templar nodes I mentioned, you might be able to drop some of the big +30 Dex/Strength nodes, which will allow you to go after other, better nodes. Pick up the 'Devotion' notable again, and also grab the 'Champion of the Cause' aura cluster down near the 'Iron Grip' keystone for an aura boost. After that, you can get the flask nodes again if you'd like, or go after more ES, or even more damage if you feel comfortable and your gear improves overtime. Don't bother picking up extra Power or Endurance Charges, you won't need them. There we are...hope that helped you out. :) |

" Well first off, I'd like to thank you very much sir, for taking your time and leaving extensive and detailed reply, I have a few followup questions for you: 1. How can I run both Herald of Ice and Thunder? I don't have enough life left for those auras. 2. That life leech gem sure is amazing right now and I think thats exactly what I needed, I thought my damage would go way down if I used it, but why not use life leech in shavs with lightning strike ? 3. I've always hated Blood Rage gem, since it always seems to kill me instead of help me, so that's pretty much why I'm not running one. 4. I know about IC CWDT setup, I haven't done it yet, since it really only helps in tough spots but the whole problem was I was taking so much damage all the time so that wouldn't have solved my issue, I was even thinking of discarding Unwavering Stance because of this. 5. I cannot afford Shavronne's Revelation, any alternative you might suggest? Thanks again bro for everything, you rock! Last edited by Luciana713#7029 on Jun 10, 2015, 11:01:49 AM

" You're welcome. :) This is one of my favorite builds in PoE and while I may not have the brains for all of the math behind it and the like, I know how to run it decently well. To answer some of your questions: 1. It depends on what auras you're running. From what I can gather from your gear, you're running: -Purity of Fire -Purity of Ice -Purity of Thunder -Haste -Discipline -Vitaity -Wrath (not sure on this one? Jsut leveling it?) You have all of them linked to Reduced Mana gems except for Wrath, and right now Wrath is eating up more mana for reserve than your other auras IF you are using it, but I don't think you are. If I remember the calculations right from this particular site: https://poe.mikelat.com/#2dtRbLf/DIGrJ5k This looks to be your current mana reservation that you have with the auras you're running, obviously no Wrath. To run the heralds you're going to have to drop your Vitality aura, and only drop that after you've gotten enough life regen from the tree to where you won't need Vitality for that to sustain your life pool to use your skills. Play around on that site and see how it works for you, but make sure you're on the CURRENT VERSION and NOT the 'Beta Version' as there's a huge difference. I should have linked you the current version, but just keep that in mind. Again, wait until you get enough life regen from the tree, then you can drop Vitality and run the auras in its place. 2. You don't want to use LL with Lightning Strike because your main leech IS NOT coming from any portion of LS, which scales with physical damage much more than what you have on your weapon. Lightning Strike is just the catalyst to deliver proc chances for Mjolner to activate Arc and Discharge, and since you're scaling those with more spell damage, you want them to be your primary sources of leech. Discharge can hit very hard, and the LL gem is not specific about what kind of damage you leech from...it leeches from any source of damage its linked to be it spell, or physical, or elemental damage from ATTACKS and not SPELLS...big difference. Again, Rainbownuke relies on amplifying SPELL DAMAGE so those spells hit hard, so you'll want leech from your hardest form of damage and not just from what you're using to proc those spells. 3 and 5. Blood Rage shouldn't be too much of an issue now that you're packing Life Leech, but if you cannot Shav's Revelation to offset its degen, then your next best bet is to try and nab some Chaos Resist on gear. You do have some from "The Vertex" helm, and here are some options: -Get a rare Amethyst Ring that comes with innate CR and look for one that has a high CR roll as well as some ES and any extra resists you might need. -Get a 'Ming's Heart' unique Amethyst ring, which comes with a whopping 40-50% extra CR roll on it, though be aware it will reduce your max life and ES by 15%. However, if you can live with the dip in ES, then the CR will put you well into the positive and really cut down on Blood Rage's degen. -Replace your Rathpith Globe shield with a rare shield that has a CR roll on it and also offers a high ES base value to work with. You will lose some spell damage and spell block, though, but again, you're cutting down on BR's degen. -Replace your Rainbowstrides with some ES boots that have CR on them, a decent roll for ES, some movement speed, and any resists you might need. Again, you'll lose some spell block, but you can potentially gain other stats, and even have some open space to master craft some Dex/Strength onto them, which could save you points on the tree. Same for the shield. 4. I would say go for the manual casting variant myself, but that's just because I play it. The main advantage is that you can manually, preemptively cast IC, get yourself physical immunity, and then you have no issue with heavy hitting bosses like Brutus, Kole, or others that can really pound on you. They can also do so much damage that if something else is beating on you, your life leech won't leech fast enough to bring you back up, and then you die from big burst. It DOES take some getting used to, but it really helps...also very much against blue charging/leaping packs from offscreen that slip past your defenses. OH...one other thing...when you're rolling flasks for this build, make sure you have DISPEL CURSE and DISPEL BLEED on whichever flasks you tend to use the most, like a Topaz or a Ruby flask. You'll get the full duration out of them and that's especially potent against 'Corrupting Blood', which can absolute DESTROY you if you have no physical/bleed immunity. I would seriously recommend a Sapphire Flask with DISPEL FROZEN/CHILL as well, because this build usually has no such immunities and with how little life you have, getting frozen is extremely, extremely dangerous. If by chance you can afford one, grab a Rumi's Concoction...the extra armour isn't bad, but the block is HUGE and will allow you to get extremely defensive against almost any type of elemental damage, assuming you use it in conjunction with a Ruby, Topaz, or Sapphire flask. Again, hope all that helped. :) |

Another Awakening Unique Item Discussion Time.
Apparently the awakening will include a new set of level 66 unique gloves called Repentance. Here's a link to it. The Gloves has the following mods/stats:
Spoiler
Armour: 315 to 367
Energy Shield: 93 to 108 Requires Level 66, 306 str, 306 int (200% to 250%) Increased Armour and Energy Shield 500% Increased Attribute Requirement Iron Will (30% to 20%) Reduced Attack and Cast Speed Thematically speaking, these gloves work well with the whole RainbowNuke concept. It gives valuable ES to boost our survival. The bonus armour has minimal benefit, but it is still nice to have. Iron Will grants us a sufficiently substantial boost to our spell damage, thereby raising the damage output of arc and discharge without sacrificing another gem slot in our mjolner, which can be filled up by Lightning Penetration or Life Leech. As for downsides: The increased attribute requirement is no issue at all. However, regarding the reduced attack speed, given the nerfs to blood rage, the possible retroactive proc nerf to mjolner and the loss of buff effect (that boosts haste), this reduce attack speed might prove to be too severe of a downside to using this unique item. Furthermore, finding the strength to equip mjonler will be slightly tougher without having any strength on gloves. However, if you can push out enough attack speed and strength on your build, i'm certain these gloves could be a great assert. As always, information on new uniques is subject to change. What are you opinions? There are now so many gloves options for this build: A good rare, Meginord's Vise, Atziri's Acuity & Repentance. How do you think we can make these gloves work? *On a side note, the unique Specialised jewel (which granted 4% increased attributes for every Keystone Passive allocated) will probably be implemented into the live servers in a nerfed/modified form based on the recent announcement which confirmed which jewels will not make it to the live servers, when the awakening goes live. I'm expecting the jewel to function the same, but with a lowered bonus (maybe half the effect). Last edited by iSo1iD#4681 on Jun 14, 2015, 9:24:35 AM

Updates based on latest beta patch.
1) Life Leech Changes: Leech now stakes. Multiple Hits on different/same enemies will give stacking leech recovery. To compensate, leech rate was reduced. Feels like a buff so far for this build, on both multiple targets and single target. 2) Vaal Pact Buffed epicly: Vaal Pact now grants instant leech recovery at 100% effectiveness (up from 40%), whilst removing life regen. Huge buff overall, Vaal Pact is an exceedingly strong contender now. 3) Life Leech Gem nerfed/rebalanced: The Life Leech gem now grants only 2.0% life leech at all levels of the gem. Increasing the gems level seems to raise the leech rate, up to a bonus of 38% increased leech rate at level 20. 1% quality adds 0.5% leech rate. 4) Increase in Damage Effectiveness of both Arc and Discharge, which is an outright buff: Arc now has 70% damage effectiveness (up from 50%), whilst Discharge has a whopping 150% damage effectiveness (up from 100%) Given that the RainbowNuke unleashes numerous instances of damage through arc and discharge, the new leech changes will definitely complement the build on multi-targets and mapping. However, due to the heavy nerf to the amount of life leech you can get, bosses like Uber Atziri might become more difficult to handle. Last edited by iSo1iD#4681 on Jun 16, 2015, 6:38:58 AM

Indeed, was wondering what was going on with the LL stuff on the tree, but now that it stacks the recovery that makes it more clear. Vaal Pact's positioning movement is going to be a little more difficult to get at now, but for my style of this build I never relied on it so not a big deal for me. However, now that it's between Ranger and Shadow, you're gonna need extra points to get at it if you so desire it.
Depending on how the LL change works out as a whole, it might end up being a better idea to link Arc/Discharge with Iron Will instead of Lightning Penetration. You'll have a red socket for a LL gem on harder boss fights where the leech is needed more than the damage increase...basic trash and other packs will probably be fine with just IW and the Dori's lightning belt and its leech. |

" Interestingly enough, the reduction of life leech rate from 20% to 2% seems to promote having lower % of life leech, but hitting more times, on non vaal pact builds. With such low leech rate, having around 1-3% leech and hitting an enemy multiple times seems to be the best way to benefit from leech stacking. The idea is to have just enough leech % so that you can cap out your maximum leech regeneration per second. Then you stack leech regeneration from multiple hits. Even if you have 10% life leech, your leech regeneration per second will still be the same as around a 2-3% life leech, due to the leech cap, its just that the leech duration is longer. Hence, huge leech % becomes ineffective without any corresponding increase to leech rate. Its hard to acquire sufficient leech rate on the tree, so it might be wise to take up the Life Leech Gem or go Vaal Pact, if you want to build around having high % of leech. The life leech gem slightly improves leech regeneration per second due to the gem increasing leech rate. Optimally speaking, if you can acquire 2-3% lightning leech, by acquiring a corrupted lightning leech mjolner or voll's devotion, you will be able to hit the leech regeneration cap per second very easily. So when hitting a single enemy/numerous enemies multiple times, it will be very easy to sustain over 1000 ES leech regen per second. My Uber GG gear plan is to be able to wield a corrupted lightning leech Mjolner and utilize the new repentance gloves described in my earlier post, for maximum damage and leech. On a side note, many forms of leech on gear are getting reduced by 80%, be it uniques or implicits on items. It seems that this might be a retroactive change though.
