[2.0] THOR'S RAINBOWNUKE: DO ALL MAPS, UBER ATZIRI, AND EXPLOSIONS!

Just tossing this out there... with the current aura balance in the beta, if you have a level 4 enlighten, this build is getting a HUGE buff. With BM/MC, you don't need Charisma, can add wrath, and you gain a few gem slots (my current build would gain an entire free 4-L).

Here's what I'm looking at for auras on the current setup:
https://poe.mikelat.com/beta/#UNcgy4f/A95oV6Z/0M3MU1W/yGwHfWhb

Aura Setup:
6L setup: Empower-Enlighten (lvl 4)-Purity of Fire-Purity of Lightning-Purity of Ice-Discipline
4L setup: Enhance (lvl 4)-Wrath-Herald of Thunder-Blood Rage

This frees a 4L to do whatever the heck you want - a warcry, a movement skill, a bunch of Vaal gems, a golem, whatever!

The potential buff to the build is absolutely in-freaking-sane if they leave things as is. Personally, I can't imagine them leaving MC as 50% less mana reserved. It's so absurdly powerful in its current state.

The more I look at things, the more I think I'll be going BM/MC in 2.0 and dropping my mana variant.

super late edit - corrected the aura setup above

Nice work so far guys. Nice work.
lol... with Charisma, this insanity will even be possible if you wanted to use two 4L and your 6L for auras:

There's no way MC is going to get through as 50% less with everything else in this current state. Ridiculous.

I was coming up with very similar stuff to you with that, Tackle. Yeah, if MC somehow holds out to stay at 50% by the end of the beta I will be 100% gobsmacked at what that will enable. I was thinking of using "The Vertex" for Wrath, Haste, and probably Discipline along with Enlighten, and if I get a corrupted one, then that will push it to level 5 and give me even more mana reduction for the heavier auras and +1 to them all as well. At the very least I might end up losing Herald of Ice, but I think that's a fair loss in the end compared to what I can gain, which is quite a lot.

...Yeah, I don't see MC lasting, but who knows? GGG has done crazier stuff in the past. :P

**EDIT**

Also managed to score this beauty as well:

Could certainly yield potential aura fun stuff, or the exact flexibility I was looking for when it comes to a 6L Molten Strike + CoH build. I can either Ele. Weakness, or Warlord's Mark whenever I want and depending on the situation.

Something posted on reddit that I saw that could very well be of value to our builds: http://cb.poedb.tw/us/gem.php?n=Aurify+Curse

Now, bear in mind this is just datamined info, isn't in the beta yet, and will obviously be undergoing some changes, but let's do a little speculation here. Since we're mostly in melee range pretty much the whole time, the ability to 'aurify' a curse would fit into our setups quite nicely and potentially allow some variants to no longer need to run a CoH setup. I wouldn't be surprised if the most popular choice for this was good ol' Elemental Weakness, or possibly something like Temporal Chains or even Enfeeble or Warlord's Mark for those wanting a little more defense.

On the other hand...IF being able to 'aurify' a curse also means that we can then use an additional curse via CoH and either the http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Dark_Thoughts or Whispers of Doom paasive...that's pretty big. Now not only could you run Elemental Weakness perhaps on the curse-to-aura gem, but then use Warlord's Mark on a CoH setup, or vice versa. Of course, you could run other combos like:

1. Temporal Chains + Enfeeble = Powerful defense
2. Elemental Weakness + Conductivity = Greater shock chance and lightning damage
3. Warlord's Mark + Poacher's Mark = Extra Life Leech and LGoH plus more EC and FC generation AND more flask charges on kill.

There are other setups to be sure, though the last one with Poacher's Mark could also mean potential picking up of Zealot's Oath to add a bit more life regen to ES regen and not have to worry about taking the Lust for Carnage. Granted, you'd not be able to run a curse immune modded map, but that's just doing some initial spitballing for ideas. Plus as stated before this gem is by no means completely done and I have a feeling it's going to cost some mana reservation to be sure, but if it does, it might be worth considering for potential double-curse setups.
If I'm understanding what "aurifying" a curse would do correctly - apply the curse automatically to all enemies in the radius - then Warlord's Mark is far and away going to be the best choice for maps. Why? Because it will enable you to get rid of Life Leech and use Lightning Penetration while maintaining GG survivability

That's exactly what it sounds like, tackle, and I agree that Warlord's is going to be a very powerful curse. Granted, that's if this actually goes through, what the penalties and the like are going to be, etc, etc, but yeah...if it works out to be feasible, well, I'm glad I pass so close to the Whispers of Doom notable.
Every once in a while I'm reminded that this build can't do absolutely everything in the game. Just RIP'd to -max/+dmg/+cold dmg/twinned/shocking ground/no regen Shrine Piety. In hindsight, I'm not sure why I thought I'd be able to do that without a RIP... it's really hard to keep both copies of piety from becoming their ice form... I killed one and then the other went ice form and I got #rekt.

So there goes a weeks worth of playtime for me :(

Yeah, I tend to stay away from -max resists for that reason...way too nasty, and then that more multiplier for those XX Added Damage mods don't help either. Not so bad on some maps, but when you're up to 77-78s for the only meaningful experience gain, well, you're kinda limited.
I don't usually avoid -max unless it's also ele reflect... but the combo of twinned with all the damage mods was too much. I can handle a single -max piety just fine... the only -max bosses I always skip are Megara (Crematorium) and Dominus (Palace) because both of those have 1-shot potential. But Piety isn't so bad... if there's just one copy of piety you can keep her away from her cold form and then she's not too deadly.
