[2.0] THOR'S RAINBOWNUKE: DO ALL MAPS, UBER ATZIRI, AND EXPLOSIONS!
Would Iron Will be stronger than Lightning Penetration in situations where the target does not have high lightning resistance? Or is Lightning Penetration stronger in every situation?
Also do you think my build (posted earlier) is capable of normal/uber? " Even if the enemy does not have high lightning resist, lightning penetration will still lower the mob's resist stat as the resist stat can fall below 0% into negative ranges, thus the mob will still take extra lightning damage. 20/20 Iron will gives 97% more spell damage. However, the general consensus explained in earlier posts is that lightning penetration enables arc and discharge to be more damaging in most scenarios, especially in many late-game scenarios where mobs can have bonus resists through mob auras and map mods. In regards to your gear, you should aim for at least 8k ES if you plan to face uber atziri. Also, as Tackle70 mentions, a general improvement to your build will be to improve your max resists. Thanks so much for the feedback. I am going to swap for a 20/20 lightning penetration but I just worry about not having a red slot to swap for life leech in certain scenarios. Also is there anything I can do about elemental reflect other than being very careful?

" At 85 lightning resist, you shouldn't have too many problems with reflect. Ele reflect maps will be dangerous though on the off chance that you get a double reflect pack. You can always leave Iron Will in if you want; you'll take a DPS hit vs Lightning penetration (particularly against map bosses etc) but if you're not feeling like you need more DPS and you find yourself swapping in life leech a lot, you can always keep it. I stopped feeling the need for life leech once I got above 7000 ES. It's also not that difficult to rechrome BBB or BBR on the Mjolner. The 352nd character to hit Level 100 in Standard

Any update 1.3 ???

" Pages around the early 90s (if I remember correctly) have updates for my variant and a couple others. Essentially there's no real change from 1.2 - 1.3. If you had something working in 1.2, it should be trivial to get it working in 1.3. Doubt you'll get an update to the OP since tom94 has moved on to other builds. Guys what is your opinion about The Broken Crown for the head slot? It has lot of benefit like, +20% dmg on low life, energy shield and chaos ress. So its adequate for this build?

i need answer Currently i m running without righteousfire because i have a shield with 60%spell dmg and 520es so my ES total is around 8k my questions are: 1-Should i use Acuity Gloves? if yes why? if not why? 2-Should i take Vaal pact on passive tree? if yes why ? if not why? 3-Why nobody is running HeadHunter belt i think its 10 times better then doriany belt? if no why? ------- Can someone be so nice to show me the PERFECT PASSIVE TREE for righteous fire version And for not righteous fire version? Thanks all. Last edited by Bozambo#5762 on Jan 24, 2015, 9:29:04 PM

" Low ES, bad +STR roll, and 20% increased damage isn't very significant. If it were 20% MORE damage, then it would be great. But 20% increased isn't worth the sacrifice of ~200+ ES on the helm, and ideally you want a better +STR roll. Vertex is the better cheap unique option. " 1 - You should use Acuity if you are attempting to make a crit version of this build. 2 - This is up to you. If you are dying to reflect and feel you're not able to survive, then you can take VP. You'll have to mess with your spec a bit and use the Life Leech gem socketed in your Mjolner. In other words, you trade a bunch of damage for survivability. At 8K ES, I personally haven't felt like VP is needed at all. 3 - Doryani's Invitation belt is necessary if you want to use Lightning Penetration or Iron Will instead of Life Leech in your Mjolner. However, it has resists, lightning leech (which is necessary if not using LL gem), +STR, +damage, and +chance to shock. It's an absurdly good belt for this build. If you don't need the leech, though, you're free to swap in headhunter and see if you like it better. There is no "perfect" passive tree for this build. Just lots of variants. You have to pick which one you like and which one fits your gear. RF has been an inferior way to play this build ever since 1.2 dropped back in August, so I don't know if anyone has an updated tree for that. Page 94 has my updated tree. Page 96 has a couple other variants which may be closer to the OP as I believe they use Blood Magic/Mortal Conviction. If you're looking for a crit tree to go along with Acuity, I believe that's a different thread entirely. Working on updating my ring slot... due to changes in 1.3.1, we should be able to get functional freeze immunity through flasks, so I expect I'll be dropping Dream Fragments. Just did some testing with Sibyl's Lament on difficult 78 Ele Reflect maps and it was very doable... just have to be VERY careful of double reflect packs.
So I now recommend swapping in instead of Dream Frags for ele reflect maps. Just be careful. Not sure what I'm going to replace Dream Frags with for typical mapping... I'll update once I find out. EDIT Using this now as my regular ring, at least for a while. Cost 20c, gives me a little IIR, and enabled me to alter my passive tree so that it now looks like THIS (got an extra +16% spell damage, ~300 ES). So to sum up: if you're using my variant, the advantage over BM/MC versions is you now should get a ring slot to do whatever you want. A good option if you're dying a lot to reflect or have a backlog of ele reflect maps to run is Sibyl's Lament. Another good option is an inexpensive IIR/DEX/STR ring. If you're short on resists or something else, you can cover that here too. Valako's Sign is likely very good here as well, but I'm not convinced it's worth 14+ exalts The 352nd character to hit Level 100 in Standard The 82nd character to hit Delve 1000 in Standard Last edited by tackle70#1293 on Jan 26, 2015, 5:17:09 PM
