[2.0] THOR'S RAINBOWNUKE: DO ALL MAPS, UBER ATZIRI, AND EXPLOSIONS!
" I absolutely agree with this. I myself capped my spending on this build at 350 exalts as I feel that there is only so much I can push the limits of this build. Mirrored gear could be better used elsewheres. Anything more and I would also suggest looking at high-end crit spectral throw build or even the ShatterChuck build (also by Tom94, although its no longer as strong as it was pre 1.3), which work better with mirrored gear. This is why I like the RainbowNuke so much, it provided comfortably excellent dps for the amount I invested in to it, whilst satisfying my craving for rapid pc lagging discharges. " The first thing i would do is change boot. I mean 0 ES on both boots and gloves is not so good and evasion is useless with unwavering stance. The shield is pretty good but if u have ES boots i think it'sbetter running with a rathpith globe (cheap way) or another high speel damage ES shield. My optimal tree at level 90 would be

I run 3 purities haste discipline and herald of thunder. Of course enhance (if possible lvl4) linked with herald of thunder and blood rage. I don't feel like it's worth running dual curse since u already melt everything and in case i would run enfeeble or temporal chain as second curse. At the moment i'm iwlling to get a 5 offcolors shav with 3r 2g to put life gain on hit and drop lust for carnage so that i would gain 3 points. |

" I haven't run the build myself (lol acuity prices) but I get the impression the barrage and CoC nerfs in 1.3 hit shatter chuck pretty hard. some people in the thread for it are actually recommending this build now edit: acuity nerf was pretty catastrophic too because of the way 60% gets rounded on the 1% leech from doryani's Last edited by kitaeri#4193 on Jan 11, 2015, 6:49:21 PM

" Well the nerf to CoC (the skills internal cooldown being 5 times longer), the nerfs to crit in general and the nerf to acuity has resulted in a pretty heavy drop to dps and leech for the shatterchuck build. I myself have a shatterchuck character on another account, and its still very strong despite the nerf, although I cant play with the same level of safety I once felt pre-nerf. Given that the rainbownuke still remains pretty unaffected by the 1.3 changes, its not hard to see why people would recommend it. Last edited by iSo1iD#4681 on Jan 12, 2015, 12:26:18 AM

" Couple things to help you with (and yes I know this is an older post, but can help others with it): 1. Going dual-curse is fine, but I would advise against using Conductivity and instead going with Enfeeble. You're already getting a decent amount of damage from Elemental Weakness, even at level 11, and Lightning penetration is going to help you even more though it won't show up as a DPS increase on the tooltip. Enfeeble is much better for survivability, which at higher levels is what you'll want more so than damage. If you really want damage, then you can get more by changing your tree passives around a bit. 2. Your gem sockets and choices could use a little cleaning up and you need to understand one big thing about this build...you do not need 'Cast When Damage Taken'...at all. Why? You are generating Endurance Charges pretty much on demand and you have them whenever you want for the most part. Because of this, you can run a full level 20/20 Immortal Call instead of a lesser one that needs to fit in with CWDT. This is part of the reason why I told you to switch your gems around, and specifically run this setup in your helmet: Immortal Call > Blood Rage > Enhance > Increased Duration The Vertex will give all of those gems an additional level, and that is HUGE for Enhance since that means you're getting another 8% quality added onto BR and IC. That means longer IC uptime and BR is going to be giving you more IAS from being on low-life. AND NOT ONLY THAT, but the 50% reduced cost of skills acts like a built-in, much better Reduced Mana gem that you get for free and will make casting those skills much cheaper. The reduction does nothing for the auras you currently have in there, and +1 level to the auras isn't going to help you much. That frees up your shield socket colors to be whatever you need them to be when switching up your gems and you'll likely want something like RBG or even RGG (a bit harder to get, I know) so that you can put auras in there linked with RM. Since your gloves are corrupted you're sorta stuck with the colors you have unless you want to use a level 8 Vorici crafting bench to help you switch them around, though you'll need Vaal Orbs, too. I would suggest doing that as it'll likely be necessary to fit in other colors. Boot colors seem to be good, but the boots themselves aren't doing you any favors being pure Eva boots...you WANT boots with ES on them. Rainbowstrides can be quite helpful for a quick fix, though if you're looking for a little extra dex, then Eva/ES boots are the way to go since you can get a Dex roll on them. OR, just get a pair of pure ES boots with nice rolls and master craft Dex onto them...just have a free suffix slot open. Also, on your purity auras, drop the Empower gem unless it is corrupted to level 4 or you have level 21 auras. You only get the extra +1 to max resists if the auras are level 23 or higher. Otherwise you're just reserving extra life for no good reason and minimal benefits. If you can get better resists on your gear eventually, drop Purity of Elements and throw in Herald of Thunder...well worth it for the boost it gives you. 3. Your skill tree is where you are in need of some fixing up and overall it's not bad, but it can be a bit better. I'll give you one that I came up with and you can use it as a guide and also depending on what equipment you have in terms of needing to meet stat requirements. Try something like this:

One extra point than what you are running, but again, you can probably switch a few things around in your build to make up for it. I didn't get the 'Foresight' node, but again if you can drop a few stat nodes that you might not need for gear requirements then you can get that no problem. The main thing about this is that it grabs two nodes that not only get you added ES, but also grant you 1% Life Regen each for a total of 2%. I am assuming you're running the Vitality aura for life regen so you have life to fuel your attacks. This allows you to get that and totally drop the Vitality aura, perhaps even shift some gems around further if needed, or potentially squeeze in something else. There are a few other things you can do to help out, but those are the major ones, and the skill tree one may require you to use some Regrets to get what you'll need as it won't be easy. Good luck all the same! ^_^ |

" I would prefer taking just damage or ES since the area is already pretty big..i never felt the need for more aoe. |

" This is an older post but it would be great if I could hear the thoughts of people who have a lot more experience with Rainbow Nuke. Would you recommend me taking 4 PC and 4EC for greater discharge damage? Or would it be better to just get the 10% spell damage nodes? And what are your thoughts on Celestial Punishment (inc. dmg for shocked enemies) though the only way for us to proc shock is through arc due to RT. I have gotten Celestial Judgement so I'm deciding between 2 passive points for Celestial Punishment and the 2x10% spell dmg nodes at Witch start. Thanks. |

" Extra charges aren't worth going out of the way to get, because you always have a 50% chance of discharging your charges. You only have a 12.5% chance of getting to 4 charges in 4 attacks. The 352nd character to hit Level 100 in Standard
The 82nd character to hit Delve 1000 in Standard |
