Garena is adding skill tree resets as a micro transaction in 1.1.3. Thoughts?

" A full respec as a quest reward somewhere in cruel might be a good way to go. Wouldn't be farmable/tradeable, would allow new players to fuck up and still progress (unless they chose bad gems), and I really don't see anything wrong with being able to level quickly with a build, then totally changing it around (once) to a very specialized one. Most just rush through it with leveling gear, anyway. No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

buying a respec ?
not such a great idea. respecs available on a regular basis in some way, like the end of the 4-month leagues ? yes, please. once you've leveled up 10 or 12 characters that's enough. i'm not interested in going through all that crap again just because i want to try a new build. getting a character to level 82 or 83 is a lot of work, i'd like a full respect so i can recover builds that are, uh, "underperforming". doesn't need to be available every day or anything, but it would be nice on some regular basis. that way i could experiment for a couple of weeks, and if it doesn't work out i can just put it on ice until the next respec. |

Like others have said, it's pretty silly the way they try to justify this.
Being able to more easily respec will help retain players, but charging money for it in a supposed F2P game is a very bad idea, imo. Of course, increasing the drop rate of regret orbs would be unthinkable! Why reward the players who play the game when we can just reward the one who have more money than they know what to do with? |

I don't see the problem. It would be a problem if regret orbs were replaced with a respec MTX, because then the ability to fully enjoy the game would be gated by spending money. If people want to spend real money to cut corners in the game and rob themselves of the progression experience, which is where the core enjoyment of a grindy arpg derives, that's their business.
In general, the only problem I see with real-money dynamics in these games is when you have something like D3's RMAH, where the best items in the game were destined to be whisked away to the 1% real-money economy so that non-paying players could never attain them. A respec MTX does not engender such a dynamic. |

" I am NOT gonna go over to another company's game and attempt to entice their playerbase over here. My intent is to help folks (if in any way I can) to enjoy the game there, not to "emancipate" them from teh EEE-Vulll Garena. Whatever may be wrong with Garena, it's the business partner GGG chose, so I'm not gonna meddle with that. As for all the fauxrage in this thread about the differences in Garena's PoE vis a vis P2W, that version of the game might as well be in an alternate-universe, complete with little goatees on everyone. It ain't this PoE, and it never will be. If Chris and GGG start implementing P2W and E-Zmode elements like Garena has, then you'll have something to complain about.
