use this with glacial cascade.

Might not be bad, also considering Doon Cuebiyari.
Half the damage is physical, half is cold - so it only gets half the benefit from Hatred and half from cold damage passives? Doesn't that make for pretty poor scaling?

Just like glacial hammer, yes.

It's pretty stupid to divide skills to 50%/50% scaling, specially because they both get reduced by there respective counter harshly (cold resis + armor in this case) which disables the ability to focus on reducing a counter.

Edit : i have not tested this skill, so i will have to see and wait before i make any judgement do, it might have great potential.

It's interesting how damage scales through levels. If gain is high enough, a cold based char slaps a rustic sash, gets 18% phys from Oak and this way is capable to bypass resistant mobs by the physical portion of the skill. 42% phys increase is not a joke, if scaling is high. There's Le Heup as well, it will boost both.

In that situation the question becomes, "does it deal more damage then ek?" or "does it add a better benefit compared to ek"

If both answers are no, it won't be worthwhile.

Just as a comparison, i wanted to make a ice nova CoC cycloner based around crit and AOE passives. eventually i swapped ice nova for an EK and ran hatred and my ek did 3x the cold damage of ice nova (not factoring in the actual physical dps from EK), stuff like that ruins cold spells :).

This is an interesteing gem. But I fear the skaling, as it's dual damage (cold and physical) will be too small to benefint greatly from hatred or added fire damage.

May be a "+ spell damage" spell only, and crit ofc.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
Yes, it all depends on how damage scales.

Isn't still there a nolifer that power leveled it to 20 ? :)

P.S. I really missed it's 6% crit chance. It will be an interesting skill.

Judging from the wiki EK does twice the damage of it on lvl 20. Crap spell is crap.

From what I have heard it hits multiple times (around 3) and increasing aoe may make even more aoe overlap getting more hits.

This spell seems somewhat reflect friendly because of the dual damage.

Seems like building around crit is basically a must.
It doesn't look that bad. Cold damage is lower than FP, but the phys part in addition will help with resistant mobs, providing damage anyway.

What bothers me is the 80% effectiveness and the fact skill could be effectively boosted only by % spell increase. Elemental and cold increase won't do the trick, as the physical part is important as well.
