" You mean to say Iron Reflexes is not surrounded by Evasion, Armor, and even Armor/Evasion nodes? Even without the benefit of evasion from Dex, Iron Reflexes is clearly overpowered and should be moved to the top the tree. Being consistent with Mind Over Matter. It seems pretty apparent at this point that Iron Reflexes popularity stems from the flexibility it creates in gear viability. The two competing keystones to Iron Reflexes are Acrobatics and Chaos Inoculation which both come with negative aspects.
Acrobatics reducing armor and energy shield, this drastically reduces the value of hybrid gear and also devalues keystones such as Eldritch Battery. CI is just too susceptible to stun locking and elemental ailments forcing the use of certain unique items to overcome the drawback, not to mention the heavy dependence on gear. There is zero downside to picking Iron Reflexes, it's a win win scenario verse a give and take scenario that the other two keystones create. It's value is bolstered even further given it's proximity to Unwavering Stance. As per the Shadow/Witch disparity, I believe that that stems from the fact that they have the weakest locations on the tree when planning for a life based build but they are very strong when looking at a Chaos Inoculation variant. From my own personal perspective, when I plan a life based build I look to obtain roughly +200% life from the passive tree, when using a Shadow/Witch obtaining that amount of life nodes leads me away from all the keystones I want thus making the build very weak till very late in the game. |

" GGG has already looked over IR last year when they balanced it out. I am sure they will look over it again, but really, they should had balanced it out even more back then when they had the best chance. If GGG decides to balance it out again, from my view, it would look like they are caving in because of the typical word "popularity." Playing in a league that risks you getting kicked off if you die, makes you , by human nature, want to take the safest route as much as possible. Of course, there are people to be unique and explore uncharted territories, but the unknown can be scary. Having made numerous builds that has reached end-game, evasion build does get the full benefit until end-game, which you are probably dead before ever reaching that point....or just got lucky. One of the things that scares me as an evasion character is EK (too OP from the enemy side) and AoE skills that is packed with crit. Some things are not avoidable through the mechanics, so you have to physically avoid it, and sometimes that puts you at risk. I am not surprised that CI is unpopular. Need to heavily invest in ES gears to make CI perform, and one week is not enough to make CI fulfill its purpose. Overall, the data is still insufficient. Just like RNG, you need an infinite amount of data/time to correctly analyze them. Why I say this, humans are the most unpredictable species in the world, so we are all RNG in a sense. ;) Edit: Yes, I know the race's purpose was to gather data, short term-wise, but this was obvious. IR itself isn't the issue, the issue is with grace being a flat value so that the two create a unmatched synergy. Its very rare to being to get enough armour from gear where the determination aura would equal grace+IR until you have extremely good end game gear with % rolls. I would suggest either changing to a % evasion increase or my personal choice change it to a % to dodge value (maybe spell dodge as well) this would not only make IR more of a tough decision but it will also lead to unwavering not being a 99% pick with IR and at the same time it will buff evasion based characters without forcing them to the Phase Acrobatics Key Stone.
