the main reason why purity is being used so much after patch 1.00 is becouse most people who use mana can only run 1 60% mana cost aura their only 2 options left are either clarity or purity.
Nerfing purity and adding 'new' resistance aura's isn't the correct solution imo. reducing the cost of the lesser used aura's after the patch like vitality and such so people have more option then just purity and clarity would solve this problem without nerfing people their builds and solo play even more then has happened so far yes we got more life but we also got less armor (can't run determination and grace with IR) and less resistances with all the nerfs to purity. I can't say i'm happy with the direction poe has taken post 1.00 it's one thing wanting people top party up more but nerfing solo play for armor,resistances and damage rather than buffing the rewards for grouping up seems like such a bad idea :( sorry for my bad english and all of this is my opinion on the recent changes IGN PutzyPS

Why Purity? I need this aura for my SOLO play Summoner Witch (to be more precise: for the Minions), not sure why GGG nerfs this aura, I doubt "everyone" uses it because you basicly need it only if you can't reach max resists and besidesthat I doubt these poor little 2-3% extra resists over 75% make any difference. Could understand if the aura would give maybe 95% max resists but not 77%.
I'm really disappointed that basicly with every patch one or more of my builds and Skill mechanics are nerfed because some players may "abuse" something of that. I play solo+selffound, the game is already hard as hell this way! Why does GGG still only balances tha game after Multiplayer/Progamer content that will always give reasons to nerf stuff? I really don't want to have those new orbs (those which are in the video) around my character.
The current ones are much more beautiful! Keep up the good work GGG but plz don't spoil your game with ugly orbs... |

Good patch! Everything is really cool, except the new look of charges, they look too simply. They don't feet to look of the game.

Why does everyone use Purity?
(Clarity not being considered for the discussion) 1) It's the only 40% aura 2) By Merciless you need 75% all resist or you are dead 3) Without trading you cannot get 75% all resist without Purity 4) If you are a Ranger, even with Purity, 75% all resist borders on impossible (more true prior to 1.0) 5) Without taking reduced mana reservation nodes, Purity is the only viable 2nd aura until you get a high level reduced mana gem; you need level 8 just to activate 2 60% auras (unless the game rounds 99.6 to 100, then you will need level 9) 6) Specing into half of the available reduced mana reservation nodes, Purity is the only viable 3rd aura; it's the only 3rd aura you can activate (.71 x .79 x 180% = 100.962%; .71 x .79 x 160% = 89.744%) tldr; You need it to survive and it's the only "additional" aura you can use without passive tree investment. I wonder why everyone uses it. |

" If you only use Purity for your minions and don't think the +max resist is valuable, then why do you complain? In the video you can see Purity at level 7 with +17% ele res. Which is exactly how much it provides right now. Crit happens.
