Well the interesting question is, how many +max resist do you get for a lvl20+ gem of the auras? If thats like +5% max, these would be realy good auras (as opposed to the new purity)

This is a strange notion but is it the case that you sort skills based on usage and nerf the top 1 or 2 every 3 weeks to ensure the metagame is always fresh and flowery?

what happened with the DoT? I'm feared of nerfs of my main skills and nothing comes... Damage over Time (NOTE: Delayed until 1.0.1) We've added the ability to scale Damage over Time effects. This means that you'll have more tools available to specialise in this class of skills, but has also resulted in rebalancing of all DoT effects. Some may be weaker until augmented, which is appropriate considering skills like Poison Arrow and Viper Strike were powerful without support gems. |

GGG, I think you're absolutely wonderful for taking very seriously the input of the people who play this game. I also think you shouldn't try to appease as many people as possible either. Make sure you're happy with your game, and if you are then that's the game I want to play.

" Just not Purity. Running purity is basically worthless now. Even in maps where players are cursed by Elemental Weakness, you are still going to prioritise for the boss damage. If the regular mobs pose too much of a threat in such a map, you are doing it wrong (or it is an insanely hard map, in which case you are still probably doing it wrong). RIP PURITY. It is not outrageous to presume that the specific elemental auras will offer higher max resists than the current Purity. Working with this presumption, the current Purity still has meaning if you decide to run it against bosses like Magaera and Piety. Obviously it would be better to run an aura specific to those bosses but not every character/build can do this. There is still a lot of tradeoff and it certainly makes your decision to run Purity much more meaningful. If Purity does not offer max resists no one will run it when facing bosses like Magaera and Piety. My current character runs one aura: Purity; for the express purpose of being able to better survive encounters with certain map bosses. Even if it did offer some max resists post-patch, the specific auras are going to be too hard to compete with, why do you want to take away any incentive to run Purity at all? Am I to understand that its sole function should be to help reduce the threat of Elemental Weakness maps, as it is most certainly all it will be good for. Please think this through some more GGG. when I heard about the new aura changes for release I was hoping to see purity dealt with there. I was hoping that seeing as we went from having like 5 auras on, 3 defensive and 2 offensive to basically having 2 auras on most of our chars that you guys would combine offence and defence into single auras. Example, nerf Purity to 1-2% max res, then stick 15% fire res and +1 max fire to Anger, same for cold on hatred etc to help balance things back again.
Do you think part of the reason purity is still so widely used is because its a 40%? I was forced to look at purity, hatred, determination and haste and drop one. So I decided ok Purity has to go, I can go over cap by taking the scion resist line. But then I took the sovereignty cluster and guess what... you can only run 3 auras reserving 100% of your mana if one of them is purity... So you forced me to drop haste for purity, against my wishes, by the way you made it the only 40% and the amount of reduction you gave from the big 6 node aura cluster. Now you think too many people use it? Well I wonder why that is? I dunno guys, my marauder is now specced for purity, I used regret orbs to take away the scion resist and run purity because you made me do it through your balance of reserve % costs, if he still caps res after this then ok, if he doesnt... I cant take it anymore, I cant run haste as an alternative, doesnt fit, cant deal with more upheaval on my character front. All I want to do is log on, grind xp for my characters, hopefully find some cool loot but thats the carrot, I dont expect to find op loot, I expect to grind xp. You still cant enjoy grinding xp in your game because you have chosen to lock all xp so deep in the map system that its an absolute missery to play your game and now instead of changing that youre messing around with pvp, destroying more builds and auras, tinkering with graphics that wernt really an issue... Youve raped group play with this 100% extra health thing and yet done nothing about the real problem with solo play, we cant sustain maps like groups can and sustaining maps is the only way to sustain Path Of Exile, the game with something worth playing for a mid 80s character. I love you guys and your game is amazing, honestly its the best ARPG ever conceived and what you have achieved is phenomenal but Ive lost all hope for fundamental flaws in the game ever being addressed. All this stuff your messing with is nonsense, youre just changing around stuff that already works fine in the game and ignoring glaring issues where the game is broken. This is a PvE game about grinding loot and xp over a long period of time, developing characters, yet your PvE endgame is broken and instead you are messing with PvP and destroying peoples characters before theyve had time to finish developing them.... Youve got a ticking clock before the new wave of players hit that map wall the old wave hit, and if you dont want most of them to quit the game or become an arsehole like me bringing issues to the forums day in day out for 6 months I suggest holding the horses on destroying peoples builds and messing with sideshow triva and really getting to work giving us a functioning PvE endgame for this PvE endgame grinder game you have made. |

" But purity is also the only of the previous % auras that was not changed to be a 60% aura. Dont get me wrong I dont think the new purity is worth running it at 40% and I agree that they should just go through with it and make purity strong...at the cost of 60% like every other aura. Individual auras are still a nice idea! The only reason people took purity was for +max %, so this part should not be cut completely, just make it more expensive. |
