Chris can say whatever he wants. Again, this is the case of a theory not even working on paper. Auras are percentage based now. On a build that uses Life instead of mana for EVERYTHING, having a percentage of your life reserved with a high life pool is reserving more life than when they were flat. There was a reason BM builds never used percentage auras before now.
Monsters get an additional 50% more hp for each additional players. Tell me how this is not implemented to balance the fact that partys will now have stronger aura support. I think your so called "paper example" is just plain wrong.
Anyways this discussion is getting very circular. All I can say is when you see that both tomorrow and a few months from now that you see that the game is completely fine and playable..... remember how dead wrong you're bad theorycrafting was.

Basically they changed so many things so much that this "release" will be the beginning of a new "open beta" (aka excuse for fuck ups). Not really hyped about the patch notes but let's see if I will support GGG more in future.

+ from me. The chaos that is the trade chat right now is silly. My Buddy who plays a fraction of what i do just became super rich over night cause of his LA build (Kaom + thunderfist).

in the most recent months i have purposely used just 3 auras on most of my characters...i expected a nerf. this is just fuked up...60% is ridiculous.
