1.0.0 Release Patch Notes

I have to say that I'm still worried about BM auras. The only way I can see this as viable is if you can get one aura down to 12,5% mana reserved somehow. This would mean you can sacrifice 25% of your life for 2 auras, which kinda works since we will get extra HP from the life nodes buff.

Let's say two mana reduced nodes next to duelist are buffed to 7,5% so you end up with -15% aura cost and let's say at best new notable is -50% reduced, this would mean one aura would take 25,5% life. That's just too much, as it would mean you can run one aura as BM. So let's hope the new notable passive reduces mana reservation A LOT.

Trap change I dislike strongly. Basically it means there was no point in introducing new passive, as you could have just let the skill be as it it, and not introduce new passives. This way you are basically saying 'I'm nerfing this skill and I'm forcing you to use 5-6 skill points in passives your otherwise wouldn't just to break even with the prior state'. And that sucks.

Rest is ok, although I'm worried that standard dueling will be dominated by people with legacy uniques.

„If they think I'm going to let them sweep this pizza guy thing under the rug...“
No mod action. Business as usual.

Aura Nerf

Some of us who are supporting your developments are actually working adults.

Me included. We love your game and we like to play solo.....

I do think the 60% Mana Reserve is a little too much because it will mean that we will need to spend more time searching for " perfect items " for example the ' Purity Aura ' which means I need to get really good Tri Resist Armors to balance the fact that I will not be using the Aura anymore.

Its true that there are nodes that we can choose to use in the passive tree that reduces or manage the new changes , however by doing so we will need to sacrifice either our kill / movement or speed nodes in order to use that particular Aura.

This means we will find it quite a task to even play end game maps.....

My Duelist is only heavily affected by the fact he can no longer rely on Grace for a massive defense boost. Seeing as the "mana" cost of it will go from ~300 life all the way up to nearly 2k life for the same thing since he's Blood Magic, and taking away Blood Magic so he can use an aura without risk is just not feasible. At all.

While I personally hope the "aura reservation reduction" node behind Blood Magic is highly significant, there's just nothing else I can really do for my Duelist to keep him playable if I decided to stick with Standard.

As far as the rest of the rage is going, I'm just...laughing.
Any word on the tempest shield gem? Only thing i can see in those notes is to do with the sound it makes, will this be receiving any kind of changes? I cant see anyone being able to actually use it at all now, especially with what it gives. Unless its to receive a buff to say 10%+ block chance it will be a completely 100% useless gem in the game.

Congratulations to GGG but legacy items are going to mean mistakes from the past are going to haunt you forever.

I understand your trying to make a better game, but some of these charges are beyond not thought through. Take it from someone who plays this game at a end game level more hours then all your alpha's are logged on. And btw all the Hardcore Gamers don't buy any pets because we have Neon to follow us around whenever we like. Figured he would have told you how to play your game, fail... PM in game if u like to l2p
those trap nodes better be godly... 4 trap nerfs in a row
Really disappointed by the legacy item policy especially now with the new pvp; very sad decisision.
And I don't get the heavy nerf to spark, I would understand a damage nerf but why duration? Why making a spell useless? Due to its random pathing nature an acceptable duration was the only thing that made it viable.
I just want to start off by saying congratulations to you guys at Grinding Gear Games. You've made a fantastic game, and I hope that it survives the test of time well! You guys deserve it!

I remember coming into the game when I finally got my key; I was so excited! I remember back at a time where I could infinitely flicker strike around on a Duelist that had near 70% block chance, and a whole ton of evasion and armor and health, and did some rather silly shenanigans, totally out to about 6.5k DPS at like level 40. Hilarious, but I had to move on from that.

Which leads me to wonder.. Why does it seem to me like so many people can't read for their life?

I'd like to take a moment and make a few comments on a few of the changes, and APPLAUD you guys down at GGG for them.

First off, apparently one of the most controversial change: Auras. I'm excited for this change, because I've made SEVERAL characters that were built around the premise of running all of the auras in the game at the same time. It hurt me in that oh so special way when people who didn't even need mana reservation passives could still run five or six, and still have a great build behind it. Now, I'll be able to truly have a challenge with the new passives that have been mentioned, and feel REALLY DAMN GOOD about making an Auramancer.

Second, Spark builds got hit. That's really nice news for me, considering that per party I was in at several mid to end game stages of the game, I saw consistently 1~2 spark builds in a party at a time. I rather did not want to be pressured into making the same build as so many others, because it was "Meta" at the time.

Guilds! Yay~! Now I can comfortably talk to all of my friends in the same guild at the same time, and other stuff! A welcome addition for sure.

Trigger gems. You've completed me now, GGG. I have always been strained for some of my builds that involved tanking to be able to keep up with skill/spell casts. Now, Molten Shell and say Firestorm can be handled without me needing to worry about them! I really appreciate those additions to the support gem pool.

The changes to life nodes, and the addition of defenses to some damage clusters: I CANNOT wait to see these additions to the tree. I've been afraid for so long to spec into anything damage because I'd be sacrificing those defensive stats, and for other reasons. I believe the latest revamp of the Ranger had some play onto this, and why it certainly should have been done, since the changes to the Ranger have been amazing.

Overall, I've seen nothing but positive changes to the game. Especially considering that its YOUR GAME TO CHANGE, GGG. It pains me when people think they could balance your game better then you can.

Keep up the good work, and I cannot wait to see the game in its released form, and then some further down the road! Congratulations again GGG for all that you've accomplished, and thank you for such an amazing game!

In the same boat, hopefully with the change BMs will be able to run at least 1 aura.
