Build of the Week: Season 2 Episode 1

Effectively 4k+ life with mana and mana shield taken into account, max end charges and the character almost dies to any random white pack that hits him a few times. This on a 66 map with a single, non-physical damage modifier.

Not a good sign. I hope the elsewhere-announced player life increases and monster damage decreases were patched in after this videos creation and not before.

Would have liked to see some of the aura reserve numbers highlighted. Trigger gems look fun too.
IGN: KoTao

And lol at those crazy new leaper mobs in dune map, what spell are they conjuring up exactly?

Well its a 2 hander build, so prolly very low or no armor (emphasis of gear is ES cuz EB) and if he took US, cant avoid anything at all cuz not even block ... so yeah physical damage will wreck this build, since there is no gap in between hits and the hits will hurt (imagine poorjoys map with this LOL), so it needs a quick way to gain endurance charges, (and stat all 7 of them) and casting immortal call in the exact time of need, and life gain on hit and life leech so it gets a tanky aspect and quick life recovery. Also needs a minimum of 5k life pool.

But this is the problem with poe that may never be addressed ... we NEED more passive points to spend, at least 2 per level, there is 1300+ passives ffs!!! A lot of builds I plan I have to instantly scrap because from my experience I know they wont work just because I dont have enough passive points to spend and I will need godly gear to *maybe* pull the thing off.

for thousands of chaos and exalts, i can buy mega gear exactly what i need... if you want to see what the game can

Maybe there should be some presentation of trade chat and trading interface? As I read from Chris, he seems treat it as most important in this game?

New players are to spend a lot of time on trade chat, they should be aware of it from very beginning...
Anticipation slowly dissipates...
while i appreciate the effort to make this build of the week cast, i'm not one to be impressed by shiny animations.

survivability of the build seems really poor. he's got gg 5L items and still nearly dies to white mobs on low lvl maps.

damage nodes: catalyst cluster, iron grip, master of the arena and slaughter + some attack speed nodes.

everything else is used to gain survivability from passives and it seems it's simply not enough. he nearly died to some white rhoas in that museum map.

another observation i'd like to make is his auras. he's running hatred and clarity and it doesn't look like he'd be able to stack purity on top of those 2. this means that he's pretty much unable to do maps with elemental weakness mod or -resists.

so keep in mind that this guy with eldrich battery isn't able to run more than 2 auras. this is a pretty huge nerf to auras and to most current builds.

Then what's the point to do such video? Everyone is able to do a fun looking build not caring of survability and using OP gear

I agree, this build is a fun looking build that everyone can come up with. Nothing special about it.
I think the only point of doing this video was to further show off new release mechanics/contents (Mana Shield, Spectral Throw, Trigger Gems, starting as a Scion etc.)

you missed the part where he says its an old build and a lot has changed, didnt you? but yeah from the video it is very worrying that the game is still catered only to rmters or people who will play 24/7 and spend all their cash on supporter packs. I DOnt want it to cater to casuals, but on the other hand this is too much (or too little?)
Oh good, you made a build that shows pretty much everything that's wrong right now.
LIFELIFELIFE, LIFELIFELIFE gear, take IR, etc.

Really?
Playing a dual-wielding swordsman of some kind.
In game name is Kaosu and/or ChaosBlade.

spending cash on supporter packs has ZERO effect on gameplay.....

that said i'm super pumped about the return of botw! unlike a bunch of people i'll overlook potential balance issues and have faith that they'll get ironed out over time!

love it GGG!
well, of course the game is going to be hard, that is the entire draw of the game is that is difficult and getting perfect gear is a massive grind, but you see regular progress in gear and levels. That said this build was not very tanky at all and the items they were using was only about average for a life build nothing super good or expensive. That is nowhere near a GG 5link, it was average gear for someone at that level doing maps. The build was actually a bit less tanky than most people would build because it has so much travel so the build would not really be very good until you're level 80 so that could be a bit of it as well. Also 3.5k hp is plenty survivable with a set up like this as the 30% damage you take to mana makes it a lot tankier than you would think, it mainly just needs LL.
